Super cool chair.
Working on one more design of the same chair.

Took me a whole day to finish weaving the seat

Beautiful furniture BD. But the world does not need more totes.
Just the steel colmet edging from the big box stores. But now that I spent all that time excavating, weeding, leveling, putting down cloth and spreading rock, I think I may slowly switch it out for some beefier steel that I will just get from a steel supplier and I’ll weld the edges together. This stuff is fine from a distance and wasn’t exactly cheap but I hate the joints.

Don't send this to your wife/girlfriend. They may disagree with you. Lol[emoji23]Attachment 477004

I repurposed an old Hudsons bay blanket scrap and I have been doing vintage mail bags for a few years now.
I do take orders for old mail bags/totes if any mag is interested in Christmas gifts.

If I never move another rock, I’ll be good. Used a bobcat for one load and the articulated steering fucked up my lawn so it was wagon loads for me

A little more than an hour of hand sanding. Quite a bit to go but it at looks like a knife. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d0f180500f.jpg
^^^^ What's the plan for a handle ? ^^^^
Nice knife! What steel did you use? What kinda handle are you putting on it?
I’ve always wanted to make my own using high carbon tool steel.
Probably black micarta as I want to try working with it.
This knife is more a sum of lessons and experiments. I'm hoping it's at least useable but I'm not too focussed on perfection or aesthetics. If we use it cooking, I'll be stoked.
I'm using Pop's Wolfram Special steel. Next one will be regular 1080.

A curve for your index finger where the shaft meets the blade is highly recommended. Looking good. I would never have the patience for that though.
I'll likely make the handle more ergonomic but grinding that steel handle out manually might take me 5 days. On this project, if an angle grinder can't do it, it's up to files or sandpaper.
Some day I'll step up to a belt grinder but not yet.
One of the most enjoyable parts of this project and metal work in general is that there are simply no shortcuts. You are relegated to a process and only as efficient as the tools that you own. You can't cheat metal and it's all about precision. As an impossibly impatient person, I've found this oddly (honestly shockingly) relaxing. It's also why I'm a shitty carpenter...there are a lot of ways to do "good enough" with wood if you're impatient. Not so much with forged steel.
Major props to all the carpenters and woodworkers on this thread. It blows my mind.
Nice work rev. I’ve got dad’s old service kabar in a bin in the basement that needs full metal refurb and a new handle. Not as daunting of a project but still going in completely blind.

Nice REV. Going full renaissance man I see. Much respect.
