i've never had any problems getting a ride on the back of kingsbury, or coming back from white pine to snowbird. those are the only places i usually hitch.
Yup, I found a helmet near Round Top 3/1. No, there wasn't a head in it. If it's yours or you know who lost it PM me to ID and you can have it.
Helmets in the backcountry, what's next those stoopid little video cameras? Pffttt...
It is going to snow some. There will be fresh by tomorrow morning, somewhere. There will be wind through the day. And more snow. It will taper off, before Friday night, or so. The weekend will be fairish.
Have not really been watching too closely. Wind came up this afternoon dawn here. I'd expect the wind to be an issue tomorrow with Thursday as the better day for inbounds terrain opening.
Anyone touring Saturday?
^you should just get on 80 and stop when you get to elko. i'll meet you there at 6:30.
Tough times trying to convince folks to drive with me all the way to Lassen to break thigh deep trail for miles upon miles ...
I may be touring Tahoe zis veekend.
Gonnnna be goooood this next couple weeks!
snowing down at Hirschdale exit on 80 at 10 tonight.
It's gonna dump big time. I got stuck on jury duty. Anybody know if powder is a legitimate way out of the jury box? I've spent big $$$ to have the capability to ski storms like this - does that count as a major inconvenience?
Go get some!

I doubt the upper mountain at Squaw will open today, which should make tomorrow pretty good up there.
I got hooked up with a comp ticket for kirkwood & will be riding there on sat after a quick morning lap @ cp. it's my 35th b-day so ill more than likely be hammered by noon. Come buy me cocktails & watch hilarity ensue.
Just for the record, I have injured myself on or around my b-day for the last 5 years. Not once was booze a factor. Trying to break the spell. Cameras may be a good idea.
Will be @ cp parking @ 8am if anyone wants to join us there

Well, I fly to Utah Thursday night for a friend's bachelor party with a bunch of folks that want to ski Deer Valley.... figures. My luck (or lack thereof).
Re: Hitchhiking, what really drives me nuts is when people in pickup trucks blast by... I mean, how hard is it to let someone jump in the bed with ski gear? I have run into this on the AM access road when coming back to the road from M-area and literally had to wait 20 minutes+ while endess cars and pickup trucks head up to the lot. Lame.
Huh, I've always had the most success getting rides from pick-up drivers. And, as one myself, I frequently bestow them. In fact, I got a ride from a guy in a pick-up from KW to CP on Saturday. In my experience, it's the folks in fancy cars/SUVs who never seem to stop (or even make eye contact).
Let's not get too down on Deer Valley! Best manicured Cord I ever ski'd!!! And, Stein day food is best bar none!!! As for the pick-up... if you look like ur profile - scare the shit out of me!!!
