I can't quit staring at this one, it really sucks me in... it's a vertical wall, not a flat sidewalk right?
The second one's cool too, looks like a painting.

Yep, that's water sheeting over a short vertical wall. Part of the same fountain in #4. Took about 50 pics of this - just held the button down but only got a few like this one.
#2 & #3 are my favorites just for the colors & psychedelic feel to them. #2 is the walkway just over the water and #3 is the reflection of a 60 story building.
Thanks!
powdork -That waterfall your kid captured is freakin' cool.
Alpinord - I feel your pain and I'm probably not the best person to be giving advice on this, but you can make the colors a bit more intense in post by bringing the black levels up a bit. To help with capturing the shot, use a small aperture and a long exposure on a tripod at the lowest possible iso. I've seen guys use ND filters for these kinds of shots and take up to 5 sec. exposures. Not sure why the longer exposure helps - maybe something to do with the amount of time the sensor has to collect light.
i like that one better. both the clouds and curls on the right rail stand out more to me.
Thanks PD, those will probably be displayed near each other if either ever gets displayed...
here's a landscape orientation, this one feels unbalanced to me

looks like a caterpillar larvae of an alien creature wandering the ship corridor, looking for Newt, Ripley, or other prey ...
(I'm sure it tasted good ;))
Two rounds of thunderstorms in one day (Aug 24). First round was at 3am. Had to take most photos from inside due to the rain. Here's one:

That evening, one of the best light shows I'd seen in years started around 9pm:

I'm thinking of sneaking a powerful pellet gun in to Germany simply so I can shoot the light out across the way. It kills the evening ambiance and view from the second floor balcony......

The sun rising through a dark smokey haze, minutes after I did the same. Ugh, first hangover I've had in a long time.

Thanks, splitter. That's nice to hear.
Here's the one that got away. Just a little bit to the left and I'd have hit a homer.

Killer sunrise. That lit up wave is way cool.
Went over to the beach in Lynn this afternoon to survey the damage.
A handfull of boats broke their moorings and ended up beached, ironically enough this was the first one to come ashore...

Awesome weekend with an old friend and his 12yo boy at a "secret" lake I "discovered" about 3 years ago.
Father and Son catching dinner.

Our catch. Soon to be breaded and fried in lots of olive oil and butter.
