Attachment 408537We took a long weekend to ski Lookout and Silver. Seemed like there was a lot of tailgating at Lookout. Not too much tailgating at Silver. Both are pretty sweet hills though.

Praxis up at Silver today! Keith said he’d be up at Schweitzer tomorrow.
Attachment 408750I tried to get my video of this to upload but was unsuccessful. This is Shaft at Silver Mountain. All these snowballs would release and careen down the hill on top of the unsuspecting. Todd drug us down this run.

^^^^ yeaahhh buddy
Gonna be an inland PNW local for the next 3 seasons. Living in Spokane. Got 2 kids do I get passes at silver or Schweitzer or where else?
You might consider an Indy pass or Powder Alliance add on to Silver Mountain. This would give you some freedom to explore around.
Ikon gets you to RED mountain and Schweitzer...
I think the real winner though is a Lookout Pass season pass. If you buy now, it's valid through the end of this year. Check out the partner tickets for it:

Passes for me wife and both kids at silver are the same price as one pass at Alyeska. Cheap!! I’ve only been to Schweitzer once and that was closing weekend so I don’t really have a feel for the mountain. I love alpental anything with that terrain/vibe is great for me. It’ll mostly be the kids skiing. I’ll be in law school so maybe mt spokane is the better choice 🤣
Mt Spokane is a pretty good hill for only a 45 minute drive. I grew up on it, then graduated to much bigger and better. I was back this spring for a visit to the family and got in a day up there. I was surprised by just how much fun I had!
I've been at Schweitzer for the past 30 years but grew up on Mt. Spokane. I really hadn't skied there all this time (other than hiking up in the morning and skiing down Hour Glass maybe 25 times) until this year. Since retiring, I bought a pass there for mid-week skiing with my old buddies and was surprised at how well it's been taken care of over the years. It's a pretty good deal for me to have passes at both Schweitzer and MS.
With that, I'd suggest taking a look at 49 North, too. Also, I think you can do a combo pass with Silver since both are owned by the same guy. With the additions of the East Basin chair (whatever it's called...) and Angel Peak, 49 has some decent skiing, holds snow pretty well since it faces mostly north, and they replaced the old chair 1 with a detachable quad this year. It's a pretty decent option and isn't aligned with either Ikon or Epic, which I consider a plus.
+1, depending on kid age and if you’re skiing with them all the time or not; lots of good beginner/intermediate around. i learned at mt spokane (xc then night skiing) then bounced around when day tickets were more approachable. i would see if there’s a deal for your kids and go from there. schweitzer is by far biggest but a haul to ski more than one day a week from compton and is working towards boujee as fast as they can
