Not a divorce story, but I didn't have much success finding a crazy ex thread.

Here's an article about a wonderful girl I dated 4yrs ago and her fairly tale love story with the guy she dated after me.
They were college friends, so I'd met him while we were dating, and when I heard he had started dating her, all I could think was "that poor bastard".
The blurb is good, but the article includes the brief on page 2. It is pure gold and worth the read.
I'm still amazed what a complete nut job she is and that I put up with her as long as I did.....but at the same time.....this wasn't me!

I recently broke up with my longtime GF after finding out she was having an affair with a married guy who was a part of a friend group of like 6 couples in our relatively small town. Wife of married guy and I found out on the same day. GF and married guy started climbing together a bit over the summer, but it was never on my radar that they were having an affair since ex gf and I were close with this couple. I hung out, skied and biked with married guy countless times as a part of friend group and 1:1 and know his wife well.

GF and wife of married guy (womg) hung out 1:1 all the time and had weekly before-work workout/coffee dates.

WOMG found hundreds of emails between the GF and MG including some pretty explicit shit. Both parties have owned up to the affair.

So, my now ex GF moved out and has been cut off from the entire friend group, including her best friend from college and best friend from high school. All women in the group are good friends with WOMG and are out for blood against my ex.

MG and WOMG are working on their relationship and plan to stay together. This isn't the first time MG cheated, apparently.

On a positive note, since there is no commonlaw marriage in my state I get to keep my house and all my assets. I talked to a lawyer buddy of mine and had we been married I'd be on the hook for writing her a check for several hundred thousand dollars and I'd be paying her ~$50k per year in alimony for half the length of the marriage. Since we were not married, she gets nothing and is now living in a shitty apartment in the next town over. It's crazy that my no-fault divorce state incentivizes the lesser earning spouse in that way. If you cheat and break up, you get a massive payday and money every month going forward. I dodged a serious bullet.

My ex is def at rock bottom after losing me and all of her close friends. I actually feel kinda bad for her. She's called me repeatedly threatening suicide. I've since reached out to her parents (one of whom is a healthcare worker) and made it their problem.

I'm pretty devastated, but doing my best to move on and enjoy single life. My friends have been doing a great job introducing me to their single female friends. I've been dating several new women, all of whom have been a ton of fun to hang out with and I've been skiing a ton.

Shit's fucked up, but not nearly as fucked up as it would have been had I been married.

Hah...that’s basically what I did when my ex melted down when I told her I was about to walk into the attorneys office, who she happened to go to college with.

People aren't sure how to react to married guys since WOMG and he are apparently trying to work shit out. He's using this an opportunity to try to play the "she's the one who seduced me" card. The women I've talked to in the friend group are really hoping WOMG leaves married guy and several are contemplating to stage some type of intervention. "Look how good throwitaway9876 is doing! You deserve to be happy!" Plus, WOMG stands to make hundreds of thousands off a divorce herself.

I seen my son over xmas I told him that his aunt was almost certain she had seen his mother in mexico to which he replied yeah she got married again and that was the honeymoon

Not the same situation, but my ex made allusions to affairs and abuse with our mutual friend group, 100% of it bullshit, when we divorced. I didn’t bother to correct it with those who didn’t clarify the situation with me directly.... good way to find out who your friends are, I guess.... But I have a good half dozen “friends” who haven’t spoken to me since they found out we were splitting.

It's not that its ok, but it's also not right that the women is held responsible for the whole thing.... the dude, the MARRIED guy was a willing participant. Seduced or not.

It's a fucked up double standard. It ties back to the idea that men cannot control their sexual impulses which is wrong and harmful in a lot of ways...

I completely agree. Dude should have kept it in his pants. If anything, if he has a history of doing this in the past, I think he should be the one carrying the blame, not ex-gf.

It's the women in the group who are the ones punishing and excommunicating my ex GF. Most of the guys feel bad for her. The women are withholding the same punishment for the married guy because they want to be there for WOMG and if she chooses to stay with him they want to support her.

It may be a fucked up double standard, but it's not a patriarchal standard being enforced. It's but a matriarchal standard that is being enforced- don't give sex away for free or it devalues sex for other women in the group.
