I’ve got the 188 FRS stock build. I’ve got the 190 Jedi with a veneer. Both skis are such monster trucks that I don’t think you would miss the weight if you got the veneer/lighter build. I grab my Jedis more often just because they are a bit lighter which makes them feel more playful/fun. Either way FRS is sick. U will be stoked.

The lowered weight brings them a little closer to what they are replacing.
But that’s an extra $200 and I don’t think the top sheet I chose would look very good on veneer.
Veneer is fucking sweet, it is noticeably damper, a bit lighter and looks great. It is not a game changer. Keith’s skis always ski great and I’ve definitely read here that some peeps actually prefer the nylon. I guess I’m saying you’re gon be happy either way, wether or not it’s worth an extra $200 is really a personal choice. I’m lucky enough to have a few pair with veneer and it is my preference, but I’ve also never paid anywhere near $200 for the upgrade and I’m not certain it would be worth it to me at that price, but I really am a fan. I will say, every thing is just getting soooo damn expensive these days that you’re never gonna get em cheaper and Praxis is still hands down THE BEST bang for your buck you’ll ever spend on skis.

I would also love to see a camber profile on the Jedi’s!
Thanks all for the thoughts on veneer. I'm not sure that leaves me with any firm conclusions, but it certainly sounds nice. Might just come down to taking a peak into the pocketbook and see how much spare change is rattling around in there.
I got the GPO last season during the January-February break in snow and skied it enough prior to the March storms to feel ok with it in less than ideal conditions.Quote:

There have been a handful of days this season without fresh snow 🙂 that I’ve stayed on the GPO, a few i split the day with the GPO and a QST 106 which was my previous dd, and a couple on a Blossom Pure 99.

Great skis - mind bending freeride. Ha. I love them though - they make you want to go super fast. But you can also make little turns and if you get the balance right the tips just disappear and it feels like you are on a shorter ski. Fun stuff. I've been working through some back injuries for the past few months and haven't had my body right to be able to enjoy these - but finally got myself feeling better and just had one of the most fun ski days of my life on them yesterday. Huge big mountain pow turns, shredding tight techy lines with a big family crew, we did it all, and we did it at high speeds. Stoked!
Not sure why I am asking but what non custom ski is most like a skinny Q?

Jedi Mind Sticks? Is anyone on a pair?
I have 184 Piste Jibs with 3+ flex and veneer that were mounted STH that now have shifts and another pair 4 flex nylon mounted with STH. Both enduro core.Quote:

After much humming & hawing, this is the conclusion that I came to. Ultimately went Nylon just because I got really attached to a specific topsheet graphic that I didn't think would look as good in the veneer.Quote:

I decided to go for my first veneer build as Keith mentioned using carbon and veneer as means to control weight when going +10mm and keeping a heavy hitter core.

Been away a while to hit reset on me head after some life changing crapola. In a very good place again so thought I would get back to the forums. Nothing like a Praxis thread to reignite the stoke. :)
Just ordered MVP 108 heavy hitter, vinyl, carbon, 188, softened the flex to 3. Love my stock flex 4 Quixote for powder and crap/junk but planky on firm at times. Thought the heavy hitter with carbon will keep the beef but add some pop, but softer flex for longer than typical length might be nice for the trees. Been loving my flex 3, enduro, carbon BCs in a 180.
I've got 184 RX HH+C in a 4 flex I think. Love em. Kinda basic bitch but so fun. Maybe my favorite ski in the quiver the last few years and I did not think that would be the case
