the tickets to barton hall (Further) this spring are probably a much tougher ticket than in 77. of course no one knew how legendary that show would be in advance. you were there BD?? lucky.

Not trying to brag (too much), but I may only be one of a handful of people that saw both the Dead and the Dalai (Lama) at Barton Hall. I know, bfd . It was very fun... at least the Dead show. Front row for both, too.
The Dead was the climax of my freshman year (1977) and the Dalai Lama came there in 1991, at the end of my senior year. (No typos... you read that right!)
OSECS... EW is a frustrated architect/artist and very accomplished builder (which means he had to deal with architects daily, etc. and you know what that's means!!! :D)
And as a frustrated artist, myself, I could not help but notice how all my little "smiley faces" line up like colorful little x-mas lights! [END GAYPOST]

I knew there was something different about you :-)
No, actually, in the spirit of Christmas I was coming back to delete that post but BigD caught it already. It was simply a blatant effort to get a rise outta the man cause we like doing that. Like the pow day call him from the lift:-)).
Re: my experiences with architects, 95% have been wonderful. It's the engineers who are the REAL crackheads.
btw, thanks spritey (I guess I can't pretend I knew what I was doing anymore):-))
carry on and merry christmas
I think most of the architects and engineers I've worked with, and met over my career are usually mostly kinda strange (not necessarily in a bad way, but different). I'm sure it's been said of me as well.

Fixed it for yaQuote:
Summer project 2008: An assist from my son on the labor. excavation, irrigation installation, rock dust placement and mechanical tamping, sand placement and more tamping. 16 X 16 pre cast conc. paver installation, limestone lintel steps, leveling and fine tuning of the pavers (used 2" x 2" PVC blocks to help with spacing) , top soil installation, more compaction, followed by seeding (trying to beat the fall frost), fertilizing and then waiting for grass to sprout. Great space for summer star gazing and grilling. Thinking about a canopy of Tivoli lights above the patio at some point down the road (economy willing).

I've been busy with an idea. WHICH ONE DO YOU LIKE?
and yes, they will get ski poles.
If you want one, pm me. spam? kinda.
I can also do something like this as a maggot award/different wording, some day.
Any thoughts?

Check out the website I was surprised with tonight. I don't know if I'll change anything but I got a good laugh.

Casa Rootskier could use one of those....there is no pricing information though. How much does something like that run?
Can you make at least one of them flailing on freeheels? :fm:
Thanks Root.
I know there's no pricing, I just received the website link. I really love it.
This idea is in it's infancy. You're the first "customer".. very appropriate, and I appreciate that.
Let me work out the fine points, I'm just testing the waters. Any preference on the design?... I can make anyone flailing :-))))
I haven't forgotten the knuckledraggers....
I'm a sucker for prototypes.
You want the fuckn PROTOTYPE ???!
Fuck,
it begins.
My first pain in the ass customer ;-)))
talk to you soon.
F.
again sorry if this looks like spam..
I like that dog drawing on the other page, btw. fwiw
This whole thread is spam so quit worrying. ;)
That's right, you started it :-))) I forgot.
I feel better.
I'll be filling in the blanks on that website when I know wtf material I'm reproducing that in..you get an honorary price..I don't know what that means, but it's honorary..
Ooops, just FYI there's no silent "h" on ornery.
(My first take... pics #1 & #2 look same (or are letters raised less on #2?), #3 AND #4 are each different??? I like the first one (edit: unless letters are less raised on #2, in which case it should be easier to produce to I vote for it), the "on a" should match the rest IMHO... and I'd expect that unless you are doing a cast metal, the raised border on the others look vulnerable to cracking off if done in plaster etc?)

Just preserving this part in case the corporate headquarters requires it be changed someday;

About The Artist
Francis Gray is a self-proclaimed ski fanatic who is superbly talented, enjoys long bicycle rides across America, snifters of Grand Marnier, and spending entire days in bed engaged in sexual gymnastics that would leave much younger men on life support.
But he's taken, so you can just enjoy the view from a distance! :)))
Yours Truly,
His Luvy
You're right. Root gets the ornery pricing ;-))
and thanks mock
They're are all the same work... the pic with "on a" lightly scratched in wasn't intended to stay that way. It's the placement markings for the raised lettering.
My question about "which one do you like" is to get a feel for :
round with a border, classic design with a border, or no border at all (like the top pic)
I've struggled with the decision and am leaning towards no border right now. After I get the first mold, I'll do the other two. I think the round with the border conjures up a ski hill and looks more vintage.. but the simplicity of the one without border has me leaning in that direction..
I just caught your preservation. I don't know what headquarters is gonna say about that.
Can we get an oracle ruling?
What kind of chocolate are they made of and can you recommend a brand of vanilla ice cream to put on top?
I like the first one.... but also, are they made in a nut free factory?
thanks for liking my dog drawing... :)
Holidays have interrupted work on the floor, but some progress has been made.

EE- Is your wife really gonna let you leave that unfinished and go back to skiing? I can't see you getting much done on that on weekends once you are allowed to go skiing again.
I AM back on skis, officially as of the 5th, been out a few times already. I don't ski weekends, I work on the house then ;)
Gorgeous! Was excited to see how that would turn out as I've done a ton of hardwood flooring, and really appreciate stuff like that.
Yeh, now comes the part I hate. Sanding it. Going to need to spend a day with a full face respirator and sander to get it all nice and smooth before applying the finish.
Holy fkn shit eldereldo.
THAT'S magnificent.
Spectacular, Elderado. Seriously.
Eldereldo,
Looks great !!! One question, it looks like lots of flat sawn sticks in the mix, why not all quarter sawn ? Seems like it would make the border pop a little more.
