Seriously though, what I saw from Danil tonight would be enough to beat Novack. High first serve percentage, ridiculous passing shots and running down every ball (with numerous circus gets). It looked ugly for her after the first set. She kept returning everything and Sab wasn’t used to those long rally’s. She started over hitting and missing. Coco figured out her power in the 2nd and 3rd. Very fun to watch.

Some very good tennis happening now at the Billy Jean King tourney. Loving the play of an unknown Canuck ( Stakusic) who's never even played a tour match in her career thus far. Ranked like 500th a few months ago. Now 200ish. But what a run for her. Go Canada.

On sluff's comment on the "few" tennis mags... It's always surprised me a little about this joint. I've always figured tennis and skiing were very compatible and complementary as cross training. I figured there'd be more ski/tennis mags.
Having said all that and I look at my tennis and ski buddy communities over the years. I can count perhaps 6 or 7 folks that have been in both camps (ski and tennis buds). Not that many if I figure at least 100 ski buddies and 50 tennis buddies over the course of a life... Anyway... Glad I got that off my chest!

Thanks yeah I'm a lifelong night owl but I usually try to turn the tube off by 10:00 or so to avoid getting sucked into shit that goes way late. Every time I looked at ESPN it was women and I'm not huge on women's tennis.

The big story at this year's Roland-Garros is which Nadal will show up to play Xverev in the first round! Given his state going in seemingly no one believes he can win another title, and almost no one believes he'll be able to get by an in-form Xverev. And logically that might all be right, but Rafa is truly a beast of a competitor, especially at The French, so I wouldn't be so sure about any of it. We'll see.
The good news for me is I have Peacock, and they're broadcasting The French this year, so I can watch! Yippee! (Seems like tennis is almost as difficult to watch these days as ski racing!)
