Not much left to cheer for or against here. I guess Aves because I can't remember the last time they win a cup. Tampa comes across as lame because their goalie looks like a sumo wrestler. There should be a maximum dimensions limit for a fully padded goalie.. or he should have to defend a larger goal.

One thing all sports have learned in recent decades is that size matters for positions besides basketball centers and O lineman. Goalies--big. Pitchers-big. QB's--big.
Yep, in reality they can only limit the size of the gear, not the size of the player. Chara had to get some kind of special exemption to play with a stick that fits him. There's definitely some kind of limit to how big goalie pads and gloves can be and they all try to achieve that maximum.Quote:

Because lacrosse shots can come from all angles, high and low, plus the ball bounces. Hockey goals can only realistically be scored with the puck on a trajectory from ice level. Makes angles and stick/glove/blocker placement a lot more structured.Quote:

McKinnon is one of those few players that you instantly recognize when he starts skating with the puck--he moves like Datsuk, but faster straight line speed.

Bummer for Backstrom. There is no recorded case of an NHL’r making a decent return after this surgery. He had a great career with a Stanley Cup.

Good game. Just some good hard shots. No deflection goals that I can recall. Tip in after a shot but none in front of the goalie.
And we'll see on Wednesday if the Bolt's are really going to make a series of this.
How much of the difference between games 2 and 3 was due to the matchups--especially defense pairs vs opposing lines--with the home team getting last change? Seems like TB was making the nifty plays Av's were making the game before. I heard Cooper at some point saying he wasn't paying any attention to the matchups, we translated from hockey talk to English means, I'm paying a lot of attention to the matchups.
But since I wasn't paying attention to which D pairs were getting scored on in either game--I don't actually know.
