Replaced the stock RS Super Deluxe 450lb spring on my Megatrail with a 400lb MRP Enduro SL spring. Saved 180 grams and can actually use all my travel now. Still dialing in damping, but stoked so far.
That Storia posted above looks sick.

I'm getting my cold weather riding gear sorted out a little better. Firstly, shoes, the shimano gore-tex ones:

These are replacing some 45nrth fasterkatts that are a size too big. Anyone want them? size 47, cost of shipping. The zippers were replaced and aren't waterproof anymore.
Also got another pair of gloves, toe covers for my fancy road shoes, and some mtb pants. Still need some full length bib tights and maybe a warmer pair of riding pants but we'll see how the new ones work in colder weather.
You bought seat stays?

Loooong. What's the travel with the Smash-sized rear shock? I can't remember where you put that spreadsheet.
~148mm. Felt really good last night, but wasn't really going for it in the dark. It's longer than my buddy's XL Bronson v3 lol. But still like 40mm shorter than a Geometron.
I rode my new BTLOS fancy wheels today, after waiting about 6 weeks for them.
27mm IW, 28h, DT 240 hubs. The set is 1390g without tape and stems. The rims are beautiful and flawless. I went all in and put Shwalbe Rocket Rons on them. My bike lost THREE POUNDS!
They feel exactly as I'd hoped: fast acceleration and much livelier when changing directions. The tires grip pretty well except on the loosest sections, which are pretty much sand at this point.

I bought Tubolito tubes for the seat bags. Pricey, but way lighter and smaller.

Lovely. Were you coming off the stock Ibis S35 alu?

Yes. No complaints with those, aside from the weight. I decided that 35mm is wider than I need and and wanted to try something narrower.
I also had an Assegai on the front, so changing that alone accounts for a pound of the savings. I'll keep the big setup in case I ever shuttle something (would be a first) or just want to go for a downhill kom on something chunky af.
Stripped and spray painted my 2013 Nimble9.

That’s a really good rattle can job!
Yeah, that looks slick.
Yesterday’s purchase:

FWIW you can order Tubolito directly from EU for $22 each. I just picked up a truckload of new (German) tires plus Tubolitos from Bike24. Schwalbe and Continental.
Very much enjoying these on my Straggler: https://www.bike24.com/p2362236.html?menu=1000,4,22,35
Nice, yeah I ended up calling Isis about S28 vs 35 for the carbon upgrade and they were pretty clear that 35 was the way to go. I was a little confused that they spec all their bikes with 35s, even though the Ripley comes with 2.35s and maxes at 2.5, which is more or less the ideal range of the 28s. Every other brand pointed us toward 28/30mm, so we went s28 as i doubt she'll run 2.4 or 2.5 ever
After a pretty severe head injury last fall and some subsequent complications, I rode flats all this season for maximum bail-ability. I was never a fan, especially for steep and/or techy climbing. Just ordered two pairs of Time MX6 and a pair of Pearl Izumi X-ALP Summits (on clearance, too). Can't wait.
Seeing your pics here for awhile now, this was a great purchase.
Got husband one a yr or so ago and it’s been worth every penny for my peace of mind lol and didn’t you just get hitched or engaged too?
It’s also easy to text back too which was a nice surprise. We use it all the time
Yeah, we got engaged in July. Who knows when things will be normal enough to feel comfortable getting people together though. Maybe 2022. You probably saw us at the JHMR snowduro last year. We were working it.
I’ve never felt like I needed a PLB or satellite messenger but I can’t see a reason not to have one. Admittedly my fiancé was the driver here. I joke that she’s not quite a professional worrier but she could be an Olympic alternate. This will help her feel more comfortable when we’re out of cell coverage, and make the backcountry feel safer to her. Backcountry rides and tours aren’t really her jam, but she’s dipping a toe in. And it will give her some peace of mind when I’m out of cell coverage. She had a bike ride end in a helicopter a few years ago so I’m not going to downplay her concern.
I read the REI guide to choosing a satellite messenger but it seems like there’s a strong consensus here on the InReach Mini. Easy peasy. I just signed up for the Safety plan- anyone feel like it’s worth upgrading for more texts, etc.? My feeling is we bought it for the SOS, but I suppose I could see sending her an update on a ride outside of coverage.
This. At some point you realize that it's a no brainer, especially if it doesn't put too much of a dent in your budget. I never carried one until my wife made me but once I started taking it with me it I realized how valuable it could be on a lot of occasions. If costs me a few $1000s total over the course of my outdoorsy life I'll consider it money very well spent.

Started hanging parts on a Rascal. Hopefully the drivetrain, post and brakes get here this week, just in time for some weather this weekend. Lol.
