Anyone have blankets from Pendleton?
They worth they hype?
I have this one:
https://www.pendleton-usa.com/produc...&cgid=blankets
It's nice enough, but I find it a bit too scratchy to be my end of life blanket. I bought it on some screaming deal online, so kept it. Other types say they are 'Napped; fabric is combed for a softer, thicker feel' so maybe those are the dank ones. And there's a Merino wool one too that I'm sure is nicer but $$$.
Our 30 year old Hudson Bay 6 Point is good for another 30 years. Probably another 50 if we had the time.
FTR, our’s is one of the expensive napped pattern styles.
Why are you hoarding scratchy blankets?
Kind of funny intended use - the place I moved into has a large living room off of the kitchen with a vaulted ceiling and I’m thinking about hanging one of their blankets since some of the artwork is pretty dang cool, and very vibrant from the pictures I’ve seen.
Actually, not thinking about it, going to do it. Just need to decide on a pattern. Leaning toward no hanging tabs since they seem like they’d be annoying when actually using it as a blanket. Never thought I’d be a blanket/tapestry hanging kind of guy but here we are..
@ e or b: So, a blanket on the wall?
Essentially. However, apparently not as uncommon as it may sound.
It won’t look this good in my space, but this is the general idea:

Just trying to picture it
I mean I can picture cool textiles on a wall, but the blanket part is throwing me. Not up on my Pendleton patterns apparently.
Blanket on the wall is a slippery slope to incense sticks and patchouli oil.
I'm actually sorta kinda looking at textiles for this place to help control sound (textiles deaden sound) and look cool at the same time so post up what you do.

And if you've got the schekels, peruvian textiles are mind blowing, especially chinchero: https://www.textilescusco.org/shop-categories

I don't mind the feel of wool but some people do.
I was gifted a will blanket from here that I like a lot. https://eighthgeneration.com/collections/blankets
That or selling videos of yourself online
There are some cool fabrics and products for this but I know more about them in Europe than here. Maybe ::: ::: or another architecture type mag can suggest something. https://www.baux.se
JFC it ain’t scratchy. It’s soft.
Ordered a new Persian type rug for the dining room yesterday. Pretty sure it will be with me until the end.
Absolutely, the girls trust my Metro Man abilities when it comes to decorating the casa.
I've had this bag for ~10 years and it's just getting broke in. The zippers were pretty stiff for the 1st few years but super smooth now. I've never used the backpack straps so i'd probably skip that feature if it was an option. Lifetime bomber warranty of course.

Soft blankets. Coarse towels.
I have had a Western Mountaineering Antelope SMF for 25 years and I'm pretty sure it's gonna last another 25 years.
I'm still considering that Yeti cooler. So much cooler management to learn, though, at this late age. Maybe just buy a Martin guitar and learn to play that.
More appropriate would be a Lifetime cooler. The one I recently purchased is great. Ice packs still frozen after six days and five nights on the road. Not very good cooler management either. The 77 qt I bought was less than half the price of a 45 qt Yeti. The 55 qt Lifetime was less than a third of the price of a 45 qt Yeti. Made in the USA too.
Buy the Lifetime and the Martin.

Probably more of a KQ Christmas list vs end of life purchase post but my wife digs these blankets for those of you adverse to coarse blankies

You don't have that much time to think it over. Better make up your mind.
If you go the guitar route, buy a cheap guitar with easy action and see if you decide to stick with it before you buy a Martin or other nice guitar.
I've played guitar since I was 12 but when I decided to teach myself dobro a few years ago I found it's a lot harder when you're not young. But it's a cheap dobro so I don't feel too bad about it. Glad I tried the dobro instead of going straight to pedal steel, which was my ultimate goal.
Maybe not an end of life purchase but 8 years ago I bought pricey hand made leather shoes for my wedding. I’ve been wearing them a few times a week since then and they’re perfectly worn in. They’ve been resoled twice and outlasted many sets of laces. I don’t think they’ll fall apart any time soon.
Made me realize what utter shit quality most other shoes are.

I've been wearing the same pair of shoes since 1995 or 1996. Agreed on spending for a damn good pair, like most anything.
The only footwear I have ever worn that contained any element of velcro were some stock shitty booster straps.
BTW, the shoes I reference are http://www.limmerboot.com/walker.html
C'mon...just razzing.
Man I've had the same pair of booster straps for over 20 years for sure. Can't see buying more unless I lose them.
