Coming down hard in Mammoth Lakes (in town) right now. 8500ft+ should be getting it real good.

The evil one takes aim and commands all moisture out of the air near kirkwood.:FIREdevil
Okay......it's official.......either there's a flock of 30lb pigeons over my house right now or it's really snowing humongous sloppy white flakes at an impressive density.
...just tasted one.....okay...not pigeons
edit:666 post a theoretical TR of me and some some hot chick I haven't met yet who owns a snowcat
Fuck this shit. Jinx - whatever. The next three or four days might make for some decent skiing by sunday/monday, but this thing is far from the 3-5' motherlode promised by the usual suspects. I'm ready to bust out the flip flops and shorts ova' here. Even two feet of accumulation at a 7000' minimum (with 30 degree+ temps) will only make for chunked out pea soup in the short run. Good for the base, but it doesn't do shit for the face. :nonono2:
What do pigeons taste like anyway?
And then the SFO Office said this earlier:
BY SATURDAY MORNING...THE STALLED BOUNDARY GETS A LIFT FROM ANOTHER
APPROACHING SYSTEM IN THE EPAC. THIS SECOND SYSTEM APPEARS TO BE A
LITTLE MORE ROBUST THAN THE SYSTEM CURRENTLY AFFECTING THE REGION.
THERE ARE SOME SUBTLE DIFFERENCES AMONGST THE MODELS...BUT ALL
SUGGEST ANOTHER HEALTHY HELPING OF RAIN. INCREASED POPS ACROSS
MUCH THE CWA. WILL HOLD THESE HIGH POPS THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY. THERE
AFTER...THE UPPER TROUGH PASSES OVERHEAD WHICH SHOULD LESSEN THE
HIGH POPS. HOWEVER...STILL EXPECT LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS THROUGH SUNDAY
NIGHT. BOTH THE GFS AND ECMWF SHOW A THIRD H5 SHORTWAVE TROF
APPROACHING THE WEST COAST BY MONDAY MORNING. THIS TROF DEEPENS AND
BECOMES SLOW MOVING THROUGH MIDWEEK. NEEDLESS TO SAY...WILL CONTINUE
WITH CHC POPS.
Mmmm...Uni!
Tastes like pussy!

well, I sprained my wrist today, so it's on
well, it ain't a shitload like they were 1st predicting but i'll take it. nothing but rain at lake level, 1-3" at the heave, and most importantly 9-12" at kirkwood. so hopefully that foot made it to luther pass as well as we'll found out shortly. and while my heave pass will continue to collect more dust, lots of snow at kwood usually indicates lots of snow in the carson and luther pass bc spots. git sum!!!
FRIDAY
None here at el 5800 but Rose and Squaw reporting an average of 7". Beats no snow and going to work.
hmm.... 4"-6" reported at Alpine Meadows. decisions, decisions, decisions... should i stay home (and work) or go skiing?!?
Meet me at noon pardner. I'm waiting till mcpheet gets there and tells me if it's raining or snowing. :D
I've got some things to do at work that this weather just created so I'm just gonna pull a lunch break thingy.........after all 4 inches of snow over the chocolate chips is removed by other peoples edges:fm:
YIPPEE!!!! Kirkwood broke the 100" season total mark, and it only took until mid-February!
Still....now I'm stoked for this weekend.....I'm guessin the usual suspects will be present...
