One: Catamount beer sucks. It's shocking that they are still in business.
Two: This is the Simon Pearce cheddar soup and you will follow the recipe exactly!!!!!!!!
Need to get some G3 Ions mounted. I'm up by Sugarbush in between Christmas and New Years. Any recommended shops up there that won't mess up a tech mount? Not really any shops in Mass. that I'd trust.
Alpine Options would be your best bet, most of the shop rats tour.
Obligatory “mount your own”?

That way you only have yourself to blame for the fuck up! ;)
Catamount Ale wasn't great but it's what we had back then. Those were the early days of the microbrew resurgence. They a porter iirc that was better than the ale.
And Harpoon blows goats.

get some before the rain does.
Remember their seasonal smoked porter? Some years it tasted a bit smokey, others tasted like bacon sautéed in your crusty aunts pall mall 100’s filled week old ash tray.
That being said I have mad respect for the brewers of the late 80’s-90’s, it took 30 years but they finally made good beer mainstream.
I was happy when I switched to Long Trail.
VT lost a solid brewer/ bar owner last night. McNeil was salty, annoyed, and kicked me out of his pub a couple of times. I like to think of him on the same plane of Geary’s, both dipped their toes into mass market in the 90’s early 00’s but then dialed back when the realized it compromised their product and life.
Magic leading the way…again.

Of course, they don't mention what the limit is. A cynic might suggest that they set it to 150% of last year's peak number.

Making the mounds.
Talked to a lifty who said the bravo diesel was fixed and inspected. Had been scheduled to work HG today with an odd top2bottom route, but they nixed it due to rescue safety concerns, which is understandable. I would rather they leave the new snow alone until it won't get rained on immediately.

Looks better than it is. Can see the fence on elbow and they almost have a route to the base.

Raging wind and flickering power has ended, 36º and falling bob. Running out of tillable base around here, tomorrow is going to be very firm at best. Get Some!
Being from the East Coast, I pointed ‘em for the only twigs I could find.

Sure by todays standards his beers were middle of the road, but in the 90’s an oasis of flavor in a sea of fermented rice water. Obviously people have different opinions on beers but you have to respect an individual that found a passion for beer and made it work for him for 30 some odd years.
Thank the Lord and pass the snakes.
