Despite what the skacting photos might imply, I can’t say it was a great ski day today. It was however great to be skiing!

Ah, the double heel-only release on tech bindings. Half "fuck I'm really stuck here" and half "at least I know where my skis are"
It wasn't easy (especially the trail breaking part) but it sure was fun

We all fell victim sooner or later when downhill-skinning. Truly the most treacherous of transit methods! He was well a truly stuck - always face plant in sight of bros.
As I said at the end of the day: “We didn’t go very far but we sure worked hard doing it!”

Can't be cold and dead.
There are some miraculous, similar cases of using extracorporeal circulation to rewarm and support hypothermia victims. I think the record for the coldest core temperature with survival is still Anna Bågenholm (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_B%C3%A5genholm) at 13.7* C.
I know we did a similar thing for a child who had fallen through ice in Cle Ellum two or three years ago.

Nice shots, Norseman!
That looks like midwinter... pretty sweet.
Damn, Shredvember!

I can only imagine the miserable bushwhack that Jim Hill would be at the moment.
Splitboarding is not a crime

I was curious about the name "Jim Hill" so here's your Cascade mountain names history lesson for today:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Hill_MountainQuote:
This mountain was named by Albert Hale Sylvester to honor James J. Hill (1838–1916), the chief executive officer of the Great Northern Railway.
When your GPS tells you that FS70 will get you around Chinook Pass closure. (Photo from Greenwater FD - they're trying to figure out if it's stuck there for the winter.)

Jesus.
Must be a rookie. Any road that starts with “FS” should be a no-no for a big rig.
