This looks worse than Irene, Sam’s Steakhouse, on your way into Ludlow. Northern Ski Works is just up the road on the left for perspective. My buddy Glenn owns the little motel and his home is right before Sam’s on the left. Nightmare scenario.

Thinking of everyone in Vermont. I was in Killington in 2011, a lot of the photos I've seen today look as bad or worse.
Irene at least had the decency to show up when we were approaching drought conditions, which isn't the case this year--it may not take as much rainfall to wreak similar havoc.
So far, it's been a damp day in Western Maine but nothing exciting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way.
Londonderry is just destroyed. Our house is safe but the main part of town is underwater and isolated. I came over to NH last night and although we have issues, it’s nothing like SoVT.

Things have gone from bad to worse here. Downtown Montpelier and Barre are under water. I live on a hill and every road off it is closed. I went out for beer earlier and had to ford my truck through some deep water to get home.
My lights just started flickering and it’s still pouring.

There is going to be a lot of widespread damage by morning. Northern VT is getting the steady rain now through midnight. Trying to get across the state is going to be hard for a while.

According to the VTRANS site, right now the only way to get from the east side of Vermont to the West side (or visa versa) via a main road is go over Jay Peak or Route 9 in southern VT. Even I-89 is closed due to flooding.
Montpelier currently under water, Winooski crested overnight higher than during Irene. A lot of water headed downriver. We were spared in the MRV from major damage this time thankfully. My rain gauge has collected 5 1/2" so far but thankfully we didn't have any major downpours.

Just got an update from the Londonderry FD. Most of the main roads have re-opened but the Rte 100 bridge in S. Londonderry is still closed. That's the normal link between Londonderry and the Stratton area.

The eastern NEK was spared the worst. Still some flooding but more like a 5-10 year event. Of course there is always that one driver that thinks they can drive through the water. :rolleyes2

Sadly, the national news has been in Londonderry and Ludlow most of the week (as well as Mount Peculiar). Boston TV stations have had their folks up our way as well.
