I heard the new owners just make you shovel now.
Guess there hasn't been enough people skiing it this season.
Holy schneikes that shit was good today. NO ONE thought to hit kirkwood from Tahoe today. It was like lift served heli skiing. First tracks on Dan cliff at like 11 am. Caught the rope drops at inner Pali, outer, Pali, and eagle bowl. By far the lightest, deepest snow I have ever skied in California. Will be reliving today for years.
Good to ski with ya today

Yeah, that was going down today. Lots of cars, main Jakes lot full at 9, about a dozen cars at the 89 approach to Rubicon (wondering of this was due to the Alpenglow winter festival thing), and Hidden only sorta plowed for maybe five or six cars. With snow on the roadway, pretty tough to tell where the white line was, though a few at Jakes were clearly not all the way off the road, but once it melted it was evident a bunch of cars were over. When I was returning to my vehicle, saw a couple tow trucks, and one of them said CHP called them to get rid of cars in the road. Kinda lame that cars can park all over Squaw Valley Road, with thousands of cars passing by both ways and people walking in the road with all of their gear, and not a single ticket was given or car towed even though CHP was there watching the whole shitshow. On the westshore when EB is closed it's just a few dozen backcountry skiers and that's it.
Oh yeah, the snow was fuckin ridiculous. Gotta clean the jizz off my gear now. Tomorrow is looking prime for some gnar slayage!
It got tagged this morning.

Squaw went off today.
KW was okay today. About 8" of fluff on top skied much deeper early. They opened 6 and Wagonwheel ridge as well as 10 around 9:30. Sentinel and the boundary at 1:30ish. Ended up spending the afternoon getting face shots and top to bottom fresh. Missed the Eagle opener late in the day. Pretty empty here all day. Never saw a line.
Tomorrow the backside should be fun.
When it's this good, even KSL can't completely blow it. But they'll try...
TahoeBC - sweet shots! I suspect that scratch entrance is filled in nice right now.
Not sure what happened today but CHP (or Eldo Sheriff I didn't pay attention) appeared to be giving tickets to cars parked across the street and only slightly southbound of Spring Creek Tract today. This is normally a legit spot and today it was at worst questionable. In other words it had been plowed but not as wide as usual so maybe some tires were over an imaginary yellow line (since there are no lines now). It is possible he was setting them up to be towed rather than ticketing them however. Either way it seemed like a bullshit move.
How are the roads to KWood from Reno?
Horrible. You should go bowling.
You would think so, got hit hard by winds. By the look of the skin track at least 12 folks got to the top before us and not one person had dropped it, we opted for quaility and hit a line we eyeballed on the way up, lots of options over there.
Nice shots JayTe I'm sure all taken before most folks even hit the skin track yesterday ;)
Schralph - best that's what she said in a long time.
not only is deso plastered, but is also topped with clean blower pow. our last storm finished with minimal wind so stuff looks as pristine as can be which is usually not the case. stagecoach parking full at 8:30 on a friday. this weekend is gonna be bonkers
Serious FOMO right now. Fuck. Fortunately, it looks like the temps are going to stay nice and cold for a while so the snow should be good outside of the resorts for 7-10 more days, including the refresh Sunday night.
One ticket to blowtown please. Have boots, will travel
Friday, it's the new Saturday.
