Well, today ended up being pretty damn good. International opened around 11:30 followed a bit later by the lower gates. Barely crossed a track on my first two down elevator. Snow was dry for snocrummy standards.
They're pinching the lane down near exit 34 to one for a supposed "check" but I think it was more for optics. Sailing was smooth after that so I guess it worked.
I'm pretty sure they pull over the semis that try to get by the chain up area And maybe Joe Schmo in a 2WD pickup. Glad you got some.
Check out that mashed up semi in the ditch westbound, that guy took a nice section of guard rail too.
Currently chaperoning a middle school ski bus. Driver ain't chaining since it's just advised... hopefully the warmer temps have mitigated the pack a bit.
Pretty fun today.

I think rain in the forecast helped. Lots still overflowing but mostly tourists I guess.
Made the mistake of going into the Ski Acres main lot. After 25 minutes I escaped the grid lock of 2WD cars getting stuck. Snow was great, visibility not so much. Got in a surprising number of untracked lines. Lines were acceptable for Sunday afternoon. Best thing was skiing 3 of the last 7 days.

I've got an Alpental/Summit JONG question:
wife and I are attending a wedding in Seattle in March. If we land at SEA at 1030AM on a Wednesday (3/20), I think we can get out to the mountain by 1 or so for afternoon laps - is that realistic or am I dreaming? We'd also plan to stay somewhere and ski Thursday before needing to get over to Bainbridge Island Thurs night (no time constraints). We will have a car. Open to suggestions on where to stay Wed night in terms of easy access etc. and any other recommendations on what I need to know. Thanks in advance!
Yep, agreed. Just keep an eye on the Hours page to see whats going to be open during your trip and when: https://summitatsnoqualmie.com/hours...ation=alpental
Stay in North Bend for the easiest access to the mountain (~20mins) while still being in a legit city/town. Or, stay a little further away in Issaquah for closer access to Bellevue/Seattle and ~30mins to skiing.
Hit Crystal Thursday morning if no time constraints.
It stayed snow until after 3pm today making for some nice, creamy turns, 5" of new in the morning with 3"-4" falling during the day, turned to clear flake at the end of the day tomorrow could be interesting at the Lazy A

Speaking of Debbie downer, nobody will be going down Debbie's this morning for a few hours due to maintainance... the day after they were closed and presumably would have been able to do maintenance.
Yeah, saw that. I think the Alpental day of rest is very literal..
Guess I'll get some work done and try for tomorrow. Hopefully The cool down sucks some moisture out without making it too crunchy and there's a few inches of reset.
