Get a different touring setup. I’ve been down both roads and no comparison. Real live touring boots are great as well if you can swing it.

Session 2 of 6 adaptive skiing. He did his first few yards of gliding on his own kind of. Given that 6 years ago we didn’t know if he would even walk, this is pretty amazing.

This year we've been going to Brian Head and it's pretty ideal for his level. The Navajo Express lift services some of the most fun beginner/low intermediate terrain that I've been on. There are flattish glades, lot of little cut throughs in the woods, and a gully between the main edges of the main trails the lift serves that provides terrain variety. My son loves the little cut throughs and toboggan tracks through the trees and I both just enjoy skiing with him and find some of the little side shots and stashes legitimately fun to ski. It's not where I'd spend my time if I were alone, but absolutely no complaints in terms of terrain you can ski with a 7 year old beginner-intermediate.
Off the backside of Navajo Mountain the Wildflower (I think) lift also serves some fun intermediate terrain with again some short powder runs in the trees and has never been crowded when I've been there. The other mountain (Giant Steps) has some steepish bumps, but nothing is too challenging. That's a downer if you're an extremely good skier looking to be challenged, but it's been a great mountain to ski with a kid as we can go up basically any lift and he can ski down something and have fun, even if his preference is flatter with obstacles and short shoots vs consistently steeper and open.
So, this is my endorsement of Brian Head as a really good mountain to ski with little kids. Plus it's free for any kids 12 and under, which is very nice.

Little man got 8th out of 38 in CB this weekend. He’s U15 but is only 12 and was the youngest kid this week. Super proud of how well he skied!
