New philosophy and new lift arrangement in the north since your last visit, but much of that is possible. Bushes could be covered for less whacking. By New Years? Maybe. Hopefully. Schweitzer had less than perfect snow conditions and was somewhat crowded today. We had a warm-up event last night with wind, which really put a skin of dense windboard on everything, and made for difficult skiing. Lots were full by 930 and lines were solid most of the morning.
Heard Silver was a ghost town with bottomless pow - they didn't get the warm up. Probably will be the place to ski for this week.

It is accurate. Yesterday it was 21°f in Sandpoint at 10am and snowing heavily. It was 29°f by 4pm, and 37°f and raining at 10pm. Post front we got wind which with the bump in temps reshaped and sculpted everything in to an egg-shell of modern art stastrugi with a little rime ice thrown in as an extra treat.Quote:

I wish I had bought a house in Wallace not Sandpoint now. Having a bit of an existential crisis after 2 (plus this one) winters with lots of days with weird warm-ups and wind events at Schweitzer while you guys are shredding pow in the Silver Valley. And with Schweitzer getting added as an Ikonic destination and billing themselves as the Vail of Idaho, it's really starting to not add up for me.Quote:
