I was figuring out how your buddy strapped into that contraption:), then read the rest….but still cool.
Watching the pros swing in real time and in slo motion can work too.
I think practicing your swing in slow motion is one of the best tools.
You know you're a serious golfer when you look at that ridiculous contraption and say "I want one."
Nice Toy. My dad laughed at me when I bought a weighted club doughnut to improve.
I'm heading to Phoenix in 10 days with my 3 brothers for honor of possessing "The Flag". a decades old family trophy. Two day's of match play.
Any recs on <$100 places to play?
So you have a $200, wide, white belt then?
Flex is generally determined by swing speed, but tempo also plays a role. Kick point generally has to do with launch angle...if you need a higher launch, you should get a lower kickpoint, lower launch = high kick point. Torque traditionally had to do with spin on the ball, but its kind of an antiquated number now as many other factors about the shafts stability/load etc determine spin. All that said, a well fitted shaft is worth a lot more than the right driver head when it comes to clubs these days.
Yes...I agree. You explained that much better than I. I was most likely about 80 beers deep when I wrote that.....as per usual. I'd say torque is about the feel once you have everything figured out, since they matter a lot more. I like a really low torque/boardy feeling driver shaft and a bit more torque on FWs so I have a little feel with them. You're right about tempo being a factor in flex. I could probably play a stiff shaft if my tempo was smoother. I take it back slow and then step on it hard at the top so I need the x-stiff...otherwise my dispersion is a bit all over the place. Plus, I can feel the shaft flex at the top of my swing with 6i and longer if I'm using stiff. That drives me crazy.
i'm trying to hit everything softly. i went downhill after shooting 40 on front 8 and 43 on back 8 at great blue and finishing with 102. arthritic knee is fucking me up so i couldn't play without a cart and then the weather turned and i committed myself completely to getting ready for snowboarding. on my last round in the dark, i must have put my pitching wedge down and forgot it and nobody turned it in. i decided it was time to take a break and get serious about rehabbing my knee as best i can. i love golf, but snowboarding >> golf in my life.
The good news: Played Riverdale Dunes for the first time. Awesome. The bad news, the wind was blowing a billion. I had to back off a shot to avoid getting eaten by a giant tumbleweed. 87. Disregard "2.8" in previous posts. Maybe I need a golf watch?
/blog.
Season over here in WY for a couple weeks now. Bummer, I was hitting the ball better then I ever have before. Still miserable around the greens but I think I can take care of that next year. Gonna be down in Tuscon in a week so Ill get a chance to play a few more times. Stoked!
I recall practicing chipping off a carpet in the basement onto a couch one winter. Carded a +2 38 for 9 this season with no GIR. Missed two 4 footers for the par.
So your saying the type of shaft you should get is or should be determined by ball speed off the club?
Not that anyone care but I went with the 913 d2 with white board 72 shaft and switched to a pro v1x...getting 10 to 20 more yards off the tee...less spin = more yards

i probably haven't paid enough attention but i've never heard of anybody having a birdie putt on every hole.
Woods had a birdie putt on every hole and made 10 of them for a 10-under 62, tying his course record at Sherwood Country Club and giving the tournament host a two-shot lead over Zach Johnson going into the weekend at the World Challenge.
So he hit 18 greens in regulation then?
