Is there a way to put on a king-sized duvet cover on the duvet that doesn't make me want to spring into a murderous rage and shred the shit out of the down filled offender?

Turn the cover inside out. Stick your hand inside the cover to the end of the cover. Grab the end of the down blob with the hand inside the cover. Then pull the cover down and on.
Lately the TV has been turning up the volume to max while we watch and it fights to over ride the remote volume button until it wins. Turning off the TV usually gives volume control back to the remote. Is it the TV? Remote? Cable box?
I don't know what your rage threshold is but mine is pretty low and I don't particularly bent out of shape doing it this way--take one upper corner of duvet and shove it up the cover to the corresponding upper corner of the cover. Pinch the duvet and cover corner together with one hand and work the cover down the duvet with the other hand as far as you can easily. Do the same with the other upper corner. Then go back and forth between the sides sliding the cover down over the duvet until it's is completely covered. If two people do it you can save going back and forth between sides of the bed. All this is done on the bed of course. But doing it alone takes me maybe 5 minutes. After I find the opening of the cover, which is difficult for me for some reason.
Thanks fellas. I typically don't get keyed up over much, but lately this has been a low threshold for rage. Probably because "my" puppy is the one causing the duvet cover to be washed so much.
I usually do your method OG, but inevitably, I get one half inside out and the rest right side out after tying the first corner. I've tried starting the whole thing at the top of the bed and trying to scoop it all in; the corner approach; start at foot of bed... it all doesn't matter. I end up running around the GD bed for 15 minutes when all I want to do is get in and sleep.
Without the damned dirty puppy paws all over it that is.
Back in the day when everyone in the neighborhood "had" to use the same cable provider (read: pre DirecTV and streaming), me and my delinquent buddies would grab a couple remotes and the "code guide" and turn on many, many, many, neighbor's television sets to the most offensive thing we could find on at 2am.
LOUD.
I use two twins on a king. We can alligator roll or shift around and both are happy.
As for stuffing the duvet in…this is what i do (king size might be easier w/ a partner):
Fold the duvet in half length wise. Hold it by the paired corners at one end. Drag those corners all the way up inside the cover into one of the cover’s corners. Hold that corner into the cover corner & peel the other duvet corner over and line it up in the other cover corner. Holding these two corners wide pinching both cover & duvet, stand on the bed, if needed, & hang the cover/duvet combo off the edge. Shake. The cover will shift down & the duvet will unfold. Lay it out on the bed & fasten the bottom.

THAT. Is slick. word.
Put a flat sheet over the duvet as a puppy shield.

This may be common knowledge but I didn't know until a couple years ago that many duvets have little strings inside the corners that you tie to the loops on the corners of many comforters. Turn the duvet inside out, tie the strings to the loops on the top corners, then pull the duvet down around the comforter, then tie the bottom corners when you get to hte bottom. Keeps the comforter from bunching up inside the duvet.
Am I the only Neanderthal that had to google what a duvet is?
No I just did. Had no idea. We just have "comforters". Apparently there's a difference.
I bought a fleece type blanket with some kind of rubber/latex layer inside that is made for protecting a bed from a dog. My dog loves my son's bed, so I leave it on his bed. When my son's home from school, I just take it off. Works great.
Fuck Duvets. Nothing quite like realizing on a cold night that your Duvet shifted over and you're desperately trying to warm up to a glorified pillow case. Comforters and quilts for the win. They look nicer too.
