Big fuck you to Mr. Weahter Man. 0% chance of rain last night=raging thunderstorm 6.5 holes in. At least I got a nine hole rain check out of the deal.

Lincoln Park, actually, its a cow pasture but its the only place I can get a full 18 in after work.
That and the views aren't too shabby when the fog is absent.
just scored a mint 18* 906f2 on the ebays. boom
I've been using a 905s for a few years and I've never hit so many fairways. Never balloons... Ever. I probably went from 75% FIR to 90%. I've used a 15* Adams tight lies tour forever and don't need a 3W since I hit the driver so well, so wanted a 5W. 904f/906f was the obvious choice for me. Went back and forth between 906f2 and f4 but decided on f2 for the deeper face. I liked the idea of the f4's higher flight to get a soft landing on par 5 greens, but didn't like the idea of a shallow face on the f2 for when I do tee it up. I can't wait to get her in my hands.

Are you guys still wacking your balls around?
Been some pretty nice weather lately.
Funny/cool Phil Story from last week. I figured it belonged here. My FIL gets an email from his best friend, complete with a picture of the claret jug. Apparently last week His buddy sees Phil on the practice green. Phil played and while he did he left the Jug on the bar. After his round he bought a bunch of wine and let anyone there drink from it. Kinda cool.
this surely has been discussed in the past 102 pages; who uses laser range finders? A former golf addict I only play sporadically these days, but yesterday played with 3 guys all using devices. My partner continually tried to give me yardages, but holy shit was it distracting. I prefer finding a marker, walking off the yardage, figure wind, elevation, pull a club and fire.
It fucked with my rhythm.
I don't use, hickory, persimmon, balata, or carry a mashy niblick
yeah, i can't stand the pussies who are yapping off yardage all the time.
"ooooooooo!!!! i might overshoot the green and i'm THAT good that i need a rangefinder."
those and the pussy belly putters. my theory is they're trying to regain the feeling of having a giant dildo pushed up through their rectum into their diaphragm like the good ol' days.
39-37 for 76 from the black tees at Metro yesterday with one birdie. Almost to the point of confident play. Mistakes are only costing me single shots and my misses aren't really hurting me anymore. Still can't take the putter from the practice green to the course which is discouraging.
it was a perfect flop shot saved par, old man. i do know my distances and i put the approach right where i wanted to. the other guys were like 'HOLY SHIT!!! WAS A CALLAWAY 64 DEGREE WEDGE???"
no, it was a $5 60 degree wedge that i practiced a lot with and have enough fun playing that i don't give a fuck if crabby fucks like you don't like it.
i'll gain 10 strokes on you before the summer's over asshole. :)
oh yeah and i'll give you $50 for your shitty sticks, shipped. last offer.
gubmint nebbah let me go hungry
keep yer politicky bullshit out of this thread, hacker. Golf. Golf. and more fkn Golf.
teed off at 4:20 today, a much later round than typical. Apart from the challenge tracking the ball into the sun, an awesome time to be out. Didn't keep score, but hit a few good shots, likely a low 90's round....might do it again tomorrow, Teton Reserve if anybody's around and interested...
what the fuck are you talking about.
I like to be the last one on the course. The final tee shot in the fading light is like " that felt like it went right" and head off in that direction.
i do that pretty much every time i play twilight. a couple holes at least. i've been moderately successful i'd say -- barring wild shots it's just a grid. i also decided to bring a headlamp.
unfortunately, i have realized that some strange people consider the golf course a leisurely walk in the dark and narrowly avoided serious dental work.
i thought about getting a couple globalls but they're $10.
I played a six hour round on Friday. Six. Hours. The worst part of it is that green fees were $80, so I felt compelled to finish. Thank god for beer.
5-6 hours is becoming the norm. I got on @ 5pm on Coal Creek @ Newcastle after a tournament had just cleared and played by myself in 2 1/2 hours. It really enlightened me as to how slow it is. Wooley and I came close to a 6 hour round on Friday.
Front nine was a painful 2.5 hours yesterday, last two holes were the slowest. Back was looking like 3+ hours, so re-rounded the front in just over an hour.
