Only fullfaces, SSD... and only core bro-brahs are allowed to wear them.
I wear my helmet backwards when typing, for just that very reason weoihafdvjnairjuniarn.
Disagree, at least on which should come first.Quote:

Any dumbass can get on a bike with a helmet and ride away, but can they get away/use their training to get out of a potential accident for example?
Helmets can save lives, proper training will help more IMO. Or helmets just keep all your brains in the bucket as you get scooped up.
... Said the guy that wasn't wearing a helmet in those pics. :the_finge
Okay, I'm trying this again....my bros bike......his dream project completed .....'69 harley he's had since high school days

That thing is choice. Details needed- did he restore it himself? Appearance is A+. Those chrome spokes and whitewall tires seal the deal.

And that was intentional. I did not want to wear my helmet for a few turns down the road.Quote:

I like the course mandatory idea, but not the helmet law everywhere.
Sometimes I will ride without my helmet. Short distances in my farm like area.
I am my own person and am not perfect.
Do you do everything smartly, all the time? I think not.
hey thanks....i'm sure he'd appreciate this.Quote:

He stripped the bike himself and did mechanicals, but sent the chrome out and the painting. The color is just gorgeous..this thing is a jewel ... when I saw him sit on that thing for the first time i wish i had the camera then....he was beaming. He was a true artist with this thing and i never knew that about him.
i'm not even gonna ask him if i can ride it......i'd be too frkn nervous.
Well maybe thats a good enough reason for me. You ever have to spray that shit off the freeway? Fuckin nasty.Quote:

Excuses, no, facts, yes.
I guess I'm just tired of hearing how glorious msf is, it's not the end all for moto training. If you were to ask me which is more important, drivers ed or seat belts, I'd say seat-belts.
Once again, I'm late.
Check out this animated sequence, my GS1000 in action.

Thanks to Buzz for shooting the photos.
I'm a 100% Grade A Grass fed harley hater due to the whole "scene," but that is one sweet fucking bike. Gotta love a classic that actually is just that. I'd prefer a Norton Manx or Vincent (any) but I'll give props where they're due.
My favorite accent are the extended pipes with the whale tail exhaust. Bet that Hog stutters real nice.

I can't believe you chose a ktm over a buell, monster and a speed triple.Quote:

no way to commute on a superduke in milan... it's no fun, too much traffic. I use an honda scooter, it takes 12 minutes from home to work.Quote:

the superduke is the best fun bike I've ridden.... and I've ridden many. Not that I'm a particularly talented or fast rider, it's just that I like to try different bikes.
this explains so muchQuote:

Super Duke outperforms the Buell. I have a Buell. The Super Duke = a very nice motor with a very nice transmission in a very nice frame with a very nice suspension. The Buell has only the latter 2. Sad but true.

yeti, I never seriously considered the superduke until I tried it. When I tried it, I immediately understood that the superduke was the bike I was looking for. Forget about how it looks, you can like it or not (and I am not particularly in love with how it looks). It's the way it works and (albeit much less crucial) the way it sounds. As long as I will be able to handle the superduke, I'll copulate with her... Then, when I'll be too old, I'll prolly have a K 1200 R, that is so smooth (particularly in power supply and in the frontal susp system) than even an old man can have sex with her :D . The triple is a lot of sex to listen and to drive str8, but a bit too fat in the middle for the twistin roads we have here. Ducati: multistrada's engine is dull (84 cv.. bah!), the 999 S4RS monster is really really nice but my old back spine is suffering after riding her. Finally the Buell. Wow, I love the way she looks and the way it sounds, but - my fault - prefer the way the superduke gets into twistin roads.Quote:

Sign Me Up!
I handed over my Drivers license, signed away my life, and straddled 320hp. Holy crap!
From the first stop sign, I left about 100 feet of rubber on the road...without meaning to...(the guy leading the ride just laughed and told me to watch for the cops at the next intersection...)
I have never ridden anything close to this size...although can't think of a bike this size...not much fun at low speed - trying to turn at low speed on one of these beasts is a little scary...especially when you realize you're on a $50k bike and you just signed for it...Does my insurance cover other bikes? I have no idea..
At freeway speeds it was a blast...but 2 strange things about these bikes...1) automatic transmission...really felt weird not shifting...and 2) total lack of speed awarness..I guess it's a factor of the bulk of the bike and the engine noise overpowering the wind noise...I was over 90mph without even thinking about it...I'd hate to think where the top end is on these things.
Speaking of top end...there were a couple of guys there with NOS systems hooked into their big block engines...600+hp to the wheel...
I took my MSF class this weekend. They took us from never having ridden a bike to countersteering "high speed" turns in less than 4 hours.
goddamn that was fun!
I got a 6 on my evaluation. I aced the box and the swerve, on the quick stop I stopped at the standard distance but only shifted into Neutral (I think I hit the pedal before I had the clutch all the way in). They also dinged me 1 point for going too slow into the fast turn.
Now I'm hooked....
Me on the course: note the "Snowbird" shirt :)

good job taking the course. I wish everyone on a bike would.
you got a new bike picked out as a graduation present?
No graduation present yet. I'll be riding a borrowed 10yr old Honda Shadow 600 this fall (after an excrutiating 3 week wait for New York to get their paperwork to me and go to the DMV). After that we'll see.Quote:

Screw all you sport touring BMW riders!!! Here's something a little different. After riding and racing 600-1000cc sportbikes, and two stroke dirtbikes all my life i threw in the towel this summer to travel around Thailand on a motorbike.
Its a two-stroke Honda NSR 150 SP. Great fun in the tight twisties of northern Thailand. Stuffing up the inside of expats on their GSXR 1000's is a riot. It's even done its share of fireroad exploring and jungle camping. Though you're rowing the gearbox something fierce.

But the NSR 150 SP in Thailand looks more fun.
My 2006 SV650S. I love it, but I have to sell it so I can move out west this December. Anyone interested?
