For my next trip, I'll pull a beanie out of storage that makes a statement but doesn't clash with my avy pack to make sure I win approval from the uber-friendly JH locals:)

Good idea. Avypacks are also great for forcefully squishing other people into the tram after you let everyone else past you so you can have the window spot,:fuckyou: will help you win that local approval

Hey folks. I'm scheduled to fly into town Saturday evening. Keeping my fingers crossed flights aren't impacted too much. Any insight on how well JAC operates during snow events?
I'll be in town with a group of guys for the week, but they're scheduled to arrive on Sunday. Therefore, I'll be skiing solo Sunday if anyone wants to take a lap. I know... no friends on a powder day. No offense taken if I can't hang. Yellow (bright urine) Arcteryx shell, black pants riding either Volkl Blaze 106's or possibly my OG Pontoons if this forecast holds. I'd post a pic but attachments don't work. Ask for change if you see me.
Flights are rarely impacted unless it's a downright blizzard in action. Pontoons should get some time on snow, likely to be warmer dumpage...; some yellow wax will be in order.

Just remember, tomorrow is probably the worst it’ll ski for the next 7 days (minus the first 30 minutes). Not really finding much inspiration to be there first thing. It was getting pretty bony leading up to this and you can bet patrol is gunna be busy mañana.. Currently gusting into the mid 40mphs up top.
And just as I’m typing this the first big (noticeable) gust of wind came through outside the apartment. Buckle up

Long time lurker here, first time poster. Out here chasing the storm all week with the wife and dog (the dog will not be skiing) and would love to catch some laps with people! None of my usual friends could make it and the wife is more of a chill groomer girlie.
Fairly familiar with JH (10 days over the last two seasons) but obviously far from an expert. Spent most of my time last trip lapping Alta chutes. Pretty decent skier and I would wager I can keep up with most. Beer is on me either way :)

we went out in the afternoon and you could still feel some leftover bumps and scrapey areas but it was also quite good where the wind blew it in.
The wind and graupel were painful at points though lol
