Was waiting for you to bust those out. I liked the very end when you were really opening it up. No banter in this vid. About time they open the North Face?

Yeah I was waiting for a real good day to get on those and yesterday provided! Those skis are interesting because they are actually the lightest in ones in my latest quiver but they are the fattest too. The first few runs the snow was so deep it was hard to really judge any of the ski characteristics as any ski would've wallowed around a bit. But they were obviously real surfy and fun as heck, being designed for that type of snow.
As things got tracked up I kept thinking I was gonna find some sort of deficiency but even on the hard pack they tracked decent and were a joy! Thanks again!
No banter, first video of the season with just music. (ya wanna know why? the copious amount of powder had plugged the mic on the go pro... lol )
OMG I'm ready for North Face at this point.
At this point I have no complaints as Ive been skiing knee deep powder for a week straight now ...!
Finally getting some nice break-in miles on the new sled. Gonna ski some pow with this thing!

Can you send some of that pow a little south?
Fuck. In. A
yeah, um about that
East Turnagain Arm-
Including the cities of Girdwood and Portage
1016 PM AKST Fri Dec 22 2023
...STRONG WINDS, RAIN AND SNOW THROUGH EASTERN TURNAGAIN ARM...
A strong front moving into the Prince William Sound tonight will
bring strong winds, rain, and some heavy snow to the Eastern
Turnagain Arm. Expect gusts between 35 and 50 mph at road level
overnight and into Saturday morning before letting up to 15 to 25
mph through Sunday morning. Snow levels will rise through the
night, resulting in rain falling on snow covered roadways. Expect
slushy and icy conditions to develop. The Girdwood valley will be
slower to transition to rain, but similar slushy and icy
conditions will develop. An additional low pressure system moving
towards the Kenai Peninsula Saturday evening will bring a period
of heavy rain to sea level locations. Ponding on roadways and
hydroplaning are possible due to heavy rain and snowmelt near sea
level. Snow accumulations through Sunday at sea level range from
5 to 10 inches, and are highly dependent on the transition to
rain.
It was fun to be out there as the next storm rolled in on top of us!

This new GoPro Max 360 is pretty slick! I spent the day trying out different mount positions.
1)The head mount 360 mode would be good if you really want to see everything , including your friend to the side or whatever but it does have that high disconnected feeling
2) the chest mount 360 mode is cool , makes it feel like you are really in it
3) chest mount regular mode was really nice and smooth compared to the Hero10 Ive been using
4) chest mount 360 on snowboard might work in specific context
5) forward and rear selfie stick on board was real nice! Though I don't like riding with a stick in front of me to potentially skewer myself!

don't worry, I'll ski again soon!

I'm stoked on this new 360 mount position!
Looks kind of dorky irl but the results are amazing!!

Killer angle on the video!
I’ve never seen that
Can you show the contraption you’ve built?
I like your super simple chest mount too.

^^ I was thinking of doing a little side video showing all the camera mount options and the pros and cons to each...
but for this setup I used a carbon hiking pole with a threaded bolt embedded in the rubber tip to mount the cam. Then I laced the waist belt of the pack through the wrist strap of the pole . Last I looped a piece of parachute cord from the pole, up and over opposite shoulder and laced through sternum strap of pack.
Its a work in progress but seems to be getting half decent results !

And yes the GoPro 360 gets better footage then my old Hero10 when used in standard chest mount view. I'm not super stoked on the audio quality though, seems tinny.

^^ yeah it really feels like its opened a whole new level of creativity and immersion with the riding . Yay technology!

Nice work. You might be increasing the snow-go sales.
