I finally pulled the trigger on a new bike. So it'll definitely snow heavily soon.

If WRODS ain't your thang, there's always the Sac Ski/Snowboard Fest this weekend.
The email they sent me (have no idea how I got on their list) promises lots and lots and lots of beer...and lift tickets, too.

Howard and BA are cautiously optimistic. WW nerds are all over the place.
Do I even dare post the CPC outlook?

1” of water over three or four days, with snow levels 6500-7000. I’m appreciative of some precip but it’s not giving me any woohoos.
At this point, beggars can't be choosers.
I dare...

you know what time it isQuote:
The main changes to the forecast were to nudge POPS and qpf upward
for the end of the week into the weekend as there is increasing
model agreement.

I'm not even sure lepistoir's negativity can stop this hype train now...
Models are coming in to agreement with at least some badly needed precipitation.

Pretty impressive snowmaking considering the temps we have been having. I wish that they would allow uphill travel so that you could practice skinning and transitions. That would make the most of the WROD since lapping kangaroo can get a bit boring.

Gnarthstar wasn't half bad today.
Only "Lower Lumberjack"-into-"Lower Main Street" open, but the snow was decent for 100% man-made; very much spring-like: firm in the AM, softish in the PM.
First day back on sticks since Jan. 31st, so it was nice to dust off the cobwebs...
Fuck the WROD. I’ll only be happy when they are buried and suffocated under a deep layer of snow.
It’s been great riding MX and MTB in Truckee at 55 degrees and sun, all the way through thxgiving. Normally I’m super itchy to get on WROD, but not this year.
That being said, I hope it dumps consistently every week from next week through mid-March.
Let this jynx hereby be released!

I am in the “fuck the WROD” camp this year too. Cali has so much other sports that are great in November, to deal with shitty skiing. And I love skiing.

Welcome back to the snow Dookie! WROD or not...sliding on snow is good and so is seeing all those people you don't see all summer. Besides...WROD is possibly the new normal, until the snow is gone.
Eventually the MB trails will need to be paved for dust control and the newest surf break in Santa Cruz will be somewhere near the Costco parking lot. Enjoy whatever you like, where and when you like while you still can.
Also impressed with the ikon pass. i see their tent there which I assume you could test your pass before walking out. They also had it set up at mammoth and they seem to have their shit together.Quote:

That is simply not trueQuote:

Models trending wetter...some insanely so. I expect them to back off quite a bit. I would be happy just to see snow falling from the sky.
To each their own. If you prefer surfing, mountain biking, gold panning then by all means enjoy. But why not bring something positive to the table?
Wrod might not be your cup of tea but I watched hundreds of people enjoy the shit out of themselves today. Most kids don’t care and or can’t tell the difference. It was a very enjoyable day and I didn’t even get to ski.
