Oregon License Plate: 589 HUR

My van currently has a bull bar on the front, a James Baroud rooftop tent (grey), a ladder on the back, a swing away tire carrier on the back, das mule rock sliders, and a sticker on the front sides of the doors that says PNW4WD with a SutherWrights sticker in it. It is very distinctive.

If spotted, please contact your local Police Department immediately.

That sucks. Can someone explain a rtt on a vanagon? Kids is only real reason I can see. I mean if you need more storage how the hell is this going over 30mph on a mtn pass?

My buddy had a 55 panel identical to that. I think stock it has a 1300cc. It was geared super low. Top speed was 50mph with a good tail wind and that might be a stretch. Panels were the work truck/ delivery vehicle so a lot of them got beat
Edit: his had barn doors on driverside and passenger side
Also i cant help but think, i wish skiing in jackson could see and contribute to the ongoing vw bus stoke

My father bought a VW like this after he sold his Chinook, I think the only reason he sold it was because the exhaust and cat needed to be replaced. It had the great green plaid interior like this one.

He replaced it with a Brown Vanagon Westfalia that surprisingly he couldn't find a seller on Long Island for it about 20 years ago even though it was in perfect condition. I almost flew out there and drove it back, I should have.

Those were good years 77,78. That 2000cc fuel injected engine was a nice fit for the classic bus. Just enough steam and not as many tune ups. After that those little diesels were a step back i think

I thought I should put this in here. It's a shot from May of Skiing-In-Jackson's van outside the HostelX.
Note the Royal Bull Elk skull bleaching on the roof. His daughter was skiing with Wild Bill up on The Sleeping Indian IIRC and found it, then hiked it down. With all of her gear as well. Might be an Imperial rack, exceedingly rare.
