BOC.
World Party last night at City Winery NYC.
Karl and co. sounded fantastic. One of the best sounding singer/song writers, sooo under the radar. Excellent venue to boot. If you are ever in the area, its a great place for a show. Karl is such a card. Lots of good humor with the band and the audience.
Would have like to posted up some live stuff but my crappy phone won't do them justice....

BFD 2014 on Sunday 6/1. Hated Phantogram. I suspected and was correct that two synthesizers would be far too loud and it was. MS MR was on the same bill and they are basically the same band (both from NY). Phantogram popular single is not too bad.
Good acts for me at BFD 2014 were: New Politics, Kongos, Bleachers, and Cherub. I sat next to New Politics girlfriends and man they are smoking hot. Not rock and roll at all.
Palisade Bluegrass is coming up. Anyone headin' there?

The Guess Who.
Bobby with Ratdog on Friday night was just tremendous -- second set had a 20+ minute Estimated into a Help>Slip>Franklins that "slipped" a choice Morning Dew into the middle of it. Acoustics were killer at a totally re-modeled Northrup Auditorium (where the Dead were the first rock concert in 1971 and Furthur played the last one three years ago when they closed for the re-model). Wasserman's 500th show. Kimock was too cool >> he's so good, doesn't try to be Jerry but the jams are just as swayable.
Going to see this guy and his Trio on Wednesday night at one of my favorite venues: Wolf Trap's Filene Center.
Stoked.

We'll be center-right just in front of the pillar:

This is what it looks like from the lawn. Love this place, and artists really seem to dig it. Some of the best quality sound I've ever heard in a venue outside of Red Rocks.

Going to see the Dave Rawlings Machine on Thursday. Super stoked, first live music in a long time.
WSP 6.13.14 Boston, Ma
Good show. The lack of a set break was odd, but the venue has an 11:00 curfew. Wish they played a few shows up here. Catch them if you can.
Medeski Martin Scofield and Wood in Bend tomorrow night. Small outdoor venue!
John Butler Trio blew the roof off of Wolf Trap last night. MAN that dude can tickle the catgut. Fantastic concert - highly recommend checking them out next time they're in your neck of the woods.
Got my QOTSA ticket for 7/18.
I'm like granite just thinking about it
Don't forget Telluride Bluegrass is streaming on koto.org .
Palasade was amazing btw. Lush camping, awesome staff and grounds, great town, and pretty much all you need with amazing music and a super super relaxed cool scene. On my calendar from here on out.
Really kid/family friendly too for those folks who would ignore it because it is a (not your throw-down) festival.

DEVO
No idea who that is, Tap.
anyone else going to Beck at MassMoCA tomorrow night?
Sean Lennon's band, The Ghost of the Saber Tooth Tiger, is opening.
Just returned from Firefly. It was long and dusty...I'm very tired. Although I'm not a fan of the type of music, GirlTalk and Cash Cash were a lot of fun. Not that I expected much, but 3d Eye Blind was HORRIBLE.
Not sure I'd go again, but was totally worth it for a one time deal.
i'm still 'high' from that Beck show at MassMoCA, do not hesitate to catch him on this tour.
show was pure fire, opened with Devil's Haircut, Black Tambourine! killer versions of Paper Tiger and Golden Age, (8 bit remix)Hell Yes, Debra with the train going by! sound was great, loud and clean.
6,000 people in the courtyard on a Tuesday! great crowd.
DSO plays Beethoven's 9th tonight. Psyched.

Saw Primus (ashamed to say, for the 1st time) at the Capitol the other nite.
Yup. That happened.
wsp on the rocks was great last night.... long shot, if anyone holding an extra tix for tonight.... let me know
I was there all 3 nights. Great shows. The boys never disappoint. I've never seen them play a mediocre show. They always bring the heat. Friday was probably the best of 3 nights, with Sunday close behind and Saturday last but still an incredible show. The whole second set Friday was heat, with a 3 song talking heads encore. Life during wartime was incredible b
Hot Buttered Rum free at Snowmass tonight. Think I'll take the moto for a spin out there.
Edit: Stellar evening, and just a great show with smiles all around from every age group.
There is so much good music in the high-country in the summer it amazes me. Last night, free John Cowan, tonight, 3 free shows from celtic or dance in the Vail zone, free concert series in Minturn, Aspen/Snowmass, you name it.
Tomorrow, NYSymp opens with a Beethoven heavy residency with absolute legends. It just keeps going.
I'm taking the moto up to Targhee BG. Is anyone going to be around? I'll be camped next to the bike.
Also, my annual: stop by my pickup camper @ Dicks invitation applies for the wooks.
Bunch of shows to catch before that though, along with floats, fishing, rides, etc.
Rasta Rafreakie at the Pfiddy.
Boyz can still belt it out.

Saw QOTSA the other night.
facking LOUDest show I've seen in a while. My ribs were actually sore from vibrating at one point
Die Antwoord, my ears rang for 3 days. It was really fun.
I pinched Ninja's nipples and put my finger in his belly button.

DSO Friday and Saturday at the first year of the Jeezum Crow Festival at Jay Peak VT.
Such an excellent band. Great crew of friends from college that saw lots of dead shows together. Very kind venue, easy going "security" and a great vibe.

Love this band.
Sweet!... Nice up close and personal.
Trombone Shorty & Galactic at the zoo tonight
Conor Oberst last night at the Kaufleuten. Great show. Dawes opened and was the band playing with Oberst. Dawes sucky on their own but good when they don't sing and are tight playing Oberst's and Bright Eyes tunes.

Ever hear of Ruthie Foster? Austin blues player that was in warren Haynes band. A nice young talent.
