Tor turns 11 tomorrow, and for a birthday present he gets a $500-$600 surgery to remove a growth from his front right paw... :(

well my dog isn't a carrot anymore I've just been too lazy to chage my avatar... this is charlie, he's 6 months now and just around 60lbs - of course the most recent pictures are still on my camera... so in these ones he still has his puppy coat and teeth and its warm out.

Meet Jack, our newest family addition. He is a four year old, part border collie, from a local rescue operation, and just about the most mellow dog that I have ever encountered; which runs counter to my previous experience with purebred boarder collies. He had heartworm, which was treated by the rescue group, and went through the prisoner/dog training operation.
I haven't had a dog in 25 years, but my wife thought our kids would enjoy something a little less aloof than our cats. She was right. I didn't want to deal with a puppy, and was worried about finding a dog that wouldn't see our cats as toys/prey. Jack seems to ignore them, and I'm surprised to find they don't seem to mind him either.
We've only had him a week, but so far, he has exceeded my wildest expectations of what a dog can be.

My old dog passed away after a long 15 years in 2000 so I am totally ready for a new one. I love black labs with a little mix so thats what I got again. He's 7 months old and I adopted him from Westside Shepard Rescue outside of Petco in Westlake. He's really a lovely fellow and I am super stoked. Her he is..........................Kaiser

I swear I had posted in here before but after looking again i guess not, here are some pics of Sala the brown Aussie, and Aro the black, fluffy, stupid one. They are both awesome dogs, however they get the worst snowballs I have ever seen a dog get. Anyone know of any tricks to prevent this?

The yellow's mine, the coon dog is an old roommate.
Cody; 3 year old American Pit Bull; rescued/adopted him in Feb, 2006.

Are you talking about little snowballs building up on the bottoms of their paws between their pads?
If so, trim the hair there. It'll probably freak 'em out when you do that at first, but the hair is what the snow sticks to, so get rid of as much of it as possible.
If the snow just balled on their feet they would be fine, but it balls up everywhere. I have never seen two dogs get as bad. After just a short hike both of them will have snow matted anywhere that has touched the snow level. We have tried everything short of wrapping them in ceran wrap. Anyone get any tricks. Just trimming their hair hasn't worked.
wanna see cute?
this is cute.

Lovin' the lab stoke. We got Keely (lab) this summer. She is now 6 mos. old and just shy of 55 lbs. Look out...she's a tank. Trot (Irish Terrier) is just about 2 yrs. old. Unlike his sweethearted sister, he's a bit of a pain in the ass. But in a good way. Just super mischievous. Typical terrier, but we love him to death.
Some pics of the two of them....
This past summer just after we brought keely home. They've been best friends since.

Here is my boy Asut Asut. He is a 150+ lb Newf something mix. He has more miles under his belt driving than most people do, gets depressed when he is left home-everytime he hears the keys jingle, he is at the door before i even open it.
He is mopping in the pic, hoping for some sympathy from the TGR crowd, but I told him this crowd is pretty unsympathetic....

The mountains in this shot look Veeerrrry familiar but I'm not quite placing them. A guess would be Silvertip golf course looking across at the back of Rundle, Chinamen's, three sisters and that general area. The backyard fence shot looks pretty typical pink stucco Calgary and such (even Cochrane) or any number of other western cities where pink and stucco were once thought to belong together.
