Mormons believe that JESUS CHRIST is the firstborn son of GOD. We also believe him to be, as do other Christian religions, our savior and the one path that will lead us to live with GOD after death. He is the only person to live a perfect sinless life here on the earth and did in fact resurect three days after his death therfore overcoming death for all who will ever live on this earth.

Where we differ is that most Protestants believe that GOD and JESUS are one in the same. We know that GOD and JESUS are two seperate and distinct individuals. GOD the father and his son JESUS CHRIST.

I am all but certain that if Jesus Christ walked this Earth, and he was both human and divine, that his human side led to some debauch nights of drunkeness and indiscriminate romps in the sack with the likes of Mary Magdaleine (sp?). Good for him, I say. That is probably where the mid-romp "Oh, God!" exclamation was born.

I care about how you will answer a question most mormons try very hard to conceal the answer to.

Quite simply put:

We all lived before this life as spirits. As spirits awaiting the opportunity to come experiance this mortal life one of our brothers, and CHRIST'S as well, wanted to make himself greater than GOD and not allow us to choose right or wrong in this life. As his punishment for trying to do such he was and never will be allowed to have a body of flesh and blood as we now have. It is he, (Satan) the father of lies who blinds us in this life and will not allow us to feel of our FATHER IN HEAVEN'S love for us.

This thread has officially imploded. It does no good to battle over belief. I'm not gonna try and force my religion down anyone's throat, and sure not going to feel obligated to defend against ill-founded rumors when I know that the person who wants an answer will not be sueded to believe otherwise whether I give him a legit answer or not. I have to agree with Schmear, here. Even unchurched people are plenty familiar with the Catholic/Protestant view of the Trinity: The Father, Spirit, and Son. They are all viewed as one by the Christian church.

Anyway, I doubt we're getting anywhere by arguing this. As for me, I have always said that if I was forced to live in a big city, it would be Salt Lake even though I'm not mormon. All my non-mormon friends that have lived there really enjoyed it... despite being outcasts in certain situations.

The HOLY SPIRIT is a companion to both GOD and JESUS CHRIST. He most certainly does exist and so therefore one could call it a trinity in that they are three persons who sit at the head of this great plan that we are all a part of.

The difference again is that most protestants believe GOD, JESUS CHRIST, and THE HOLY SPIRIT to be one in the same. We know they are three seperate persons.

Do mormons ever play frisbee golf? Because the course at Solitude is pretty sweet. ;)
