I think the wheels on that Craigslist Pathfinder are from an Infiniti QX4 -- it's like Nissan said "3 spoke wheels aren't weird enough -- let's double them!"

I wonder where “transformer wheels” came from and how it spread so widely. That’s what we always called them and I’m a hillbilly from Nowheresville, WV.

Well I grew up surrounded by hillbillies in a Nowheresville right across the border so there's that. I just googled 'nissan transformer wheels' and those wheels were not on the first page of links or images. Maybe it's a regional thang.
