Thanks. That looks like "open" to me :)
Anyone been to lassen in the last week or so?
Curious where the snowline is now that the main road thru the park is closed???
Check the Lassen/Shasta forum as well. But this is worth watching too:

How is squaw going to open in 5 days?
Hell how would they open by the 18th?
65 degrees, everyday till..
I doubt they'll be able to open before the 23rd, the day before Thanksgiving. That prior weekend the temps are finally going to cool off enough for snow making but that's going to take a few days before they'll have a shitty little WROD. Mammoth looks to be somewhat decent though, all things considered.
Did anyone make it to the retooled North Tahoe swap this year. Sounded pretty lame from the description. Too bad if that was the case--that was the premier swap in years past.
Was that the one at the school? I've also been to one at the Nordic center. Auburn ski club used to have one, too.
I am new to Kwood, Tahoe in general, but gladly rode two surface lifts last year, Vista ridge(not sure of th e names at all, top of 2, and 3? I think) and the the Wagon wheel J bar(again, no clue as to what they call it)? both ran at least a few days.
Which lift were you referring to Ott? Just curious...
Sad day. Leader of the squaw avy dog pack, Tucker, has passed. He lived a life we could all dream of.

Anyone know Jim Hames, he's a drunk recluse that lives on ski run and terry. He has rooms. Last I heard he was involved in police standoff holding his tenant hostage with a knife. He can be seen on the 1st of the month at the casinos. I got him banned for life from nepheles
Lol
Maybe. I was never gone for more than 10 days mid season and never saw it running or with pomas attached If you can't run a lift for at least two months a season, it is a waste of money and poorly placed. Ive said it before, those toes would be better utilized pulling people from the day lodge to the base of 1/11. They placed those lifts in a wind tunnel. Stoopid.
I don't think we have a J bar. Perhaps you mean the poma atop 4. IMO, all are a waste and were easy hikes. Vista gets skied out so much faster. Even when those lifts are not running, they seem to have indicated to people, who did not previously notice, that there is terrain worth hiking to.
The poma tows tho, are the ones that I was referring to. That bring you over toward fawn ridge. Partly a fail because they take so long to open that F R is already all traverse tracks from non hikers seeking the holy grail. (There, unused it
Surf is pumping.
Those dogs seem to love their work. Powder day at Alpine, 3 women get on the Summit 6, patroller and his dog ask us to wait so they can board the next chair. At the last second the dog jumps on with the 3 women, leaves the patroller behind. Hey, no friends on powder days.
Anyone know what this investor group buying s@t is going to change? http://www.tetongravity.com/story/ne...ust-took-place
Shasta was a wind scoured glazed doughnut, but theres snow up there!

Ill second the surf statement, am in HMB, waiting to see when the mavericks thing goes down....I think we are talking about the same lifts at Kwood...mis-remembered the type of lift on that ridge furthest south, atop what I referred to as Wagon wheel? again totally unfamiliar with the names of most of the mountain, etc, but yes, that was a Poma(not J bar), and is almost completely unnecessary, though I prefer getting a lift in that direction if its available... while the tbar is directly above the top station of #2? accesses some fun drops right there, whether headed left after the tbar or right...
I hadn't really had the terrain knowledge to really have an opinion of where various lifts SHOULD be there, I rode those two when open and operatin' last year...anyone with any more info on chair 6? are we at a fifty fifty that it will be running on opening day? better odds?
At least there's snow in the forecast.
