Pics from my chest harness

During a break from writing an essay, I quickly put together a chest harness for my camera. It's pretty damn soy, very rudimentary, but it works. I found a really small shirt, and cut a hole in the upper chest part. The camera strap is synched up around my neck, and the camera's lens sticks out the hole in the shirt. I ran a remote trigger down my sleeve.

This setup has a lot of potential for cool POV shots. I found my system needs a lot of work. The camera is not very secure, so it likes to rotate. A lot of the pictures were very tilted. I'm thinking about cutting up an old wetsuit and using part of it to hold the camera. I may glue some grippy rubber to the inside, and sew on some buckles and strap.

i read it that it was just the neck strap and a tighty whitey small t-shirt

seems that other than that maybe just add a strap running around your sternum, like an HR monitor?

I rode Thunder Mountain out in Utah with my camera strapped to my chest. I'll have to see if I can't dig up some pics.

And yeah, holding on and braking and triggering the camera all at the same time was definitely the crux.

I saw a dude this summer who mounted his video camera in a chest pack with the lense poking out, It corrected the camera angle so it didn't point down while he was on the bike and it allowed for a nicer camera than the typical helmet cam set-up. I think he used the harness straps to angle the camera out the top of the bag for the proper point of view.

I also remember Lonnie Ball used to ski with a home made chest pack camera holder that used a rubber can koozie to cover the lens, it was all on elastic so he could just pull it out and shoot. Kinda reminds me of a binocular harness.

Pechelman pretty much summed it up. I had a bungy wrapped aroung my chest just below the camera. It's a start.
