after driving the forrester lesbmobile for years, my wife wanted an FJ cruiser. obviously I wasnt going to argue too much. we picked it up the other day and took her for a maiden voyage out in the bush earlier today. pretty stoked to try out the locking differential on some steep climbs.

Those things are fun to drive, I'm not sure if I'd buy one, but they're a lot of fun. It's stock 4X abilities are impressive, plus it basically drives like any other Toyota on the highway, and the aftermarket possibilities are endless.
One thing, I'm kind of average height (5'9") and I felt they had kind of large blind spots on all 4 corners, the worst off the front. Have you noticed that?
Regardless, take care of that baby, because the first few years sold out and those things are probably gonna be valuable for many, many years to come.

I've heard a major complaint with that thing is the visibility from the driver's seat, which you allude to. I also parked next to a guy this winter in the Magic lot, and his tailight was smashed. Seems pretty vulnerable sticking out like that. Tons of clearance, though, with a low profile, and, of course, It's a Toyota, reasonably priced.
