NAXO owners: Play in heel (remedies?).

So this is the case.


The studs below the heelpieces (under the boot heel)
doesnt seem to contact with the ski. They are apprx.1 - 2 mm off the ski, and when you flex the boot sideways, the leverage makes a quite a large play (dunno, 5-6mm of space on the opposide side) before the "inside stud" makes full contact.

I was asking this because my wider brakes comes in couple of days (so i dont have any brakes installed at the moment), does that affect the play? (i.a. moves the studs closer to ski?)
Or have you guys installed some kind of shims under the studs to stop the play? Or by doing that, does it interfere with the function of the heel-lock?
Or is the play just normal in naxos?

cant speak for Naxo's but my FR's did the same thing.
On the FR's I was able to remove the support piece that dosnt make contact, cut some rubber to fit the grooves, screw the suport piece back on.
No more gap.

I can see how it would appear to be the case while looking at it but once all the weight is in the boots and bindings I think there is minimal movement. At least I haven't noticed it on mine and I've been skiing two different pairs of Naxo's all season.

speaking of Naxo's try having to fix this in the backcountry on your second skin with them. Makes it very dificult to get the skis on / off. And I rest my case to all of thouse that didnt believe me when I said htey wouldnt last.http://www.biglines.com/photos/blpic21754.jpg

Mine virtually no play in them at all, the studs sit right on the top of the ski. What are they mounted on? If there is nothing wrong with the way they are mounted, I would definately put something underneath them to get rid of the play, the loading/unloading as you turn could cause real hell after a while.

Mtbakerskier - How'd you break that off? Seems like you'd really have to stomp on it to break it... If you were so sure they'd break, why did you get them? ;)

all i did was push down with my ski pole tip to get out of them to shoot, just like you do on any other binding, the thing just snaped off.

I got them cuase I needed a touring binding asap for a photo shoot the following day, and the only thing I could locate and get mounted in an hour was the naxo's
