work at mt rainier?
my pop called today and told me i could get a job at mt rainier this summer. one of his patients is a ranger up there and he said he'd like me to work up there. i want more details, but i dont have the ranger's number yet. i have no idea what ill be doing, so if anyone knows what kinda summer jobs the parks service has help me out. damn now i realize how vague that question is, but whatev im stoked anyway so answer if u wish

Uhhh... Isn't summer over?
-
yea it is
im thinkin way ahead, im talkin about summer 04
-
My advice would be to ask your dad for the ranger's number.

Smiling at tourists. (Working the various info desks and whatnot.)
Building and repairing stuff.
Trail maintence.
Keep in mind that Rainier is only a short drive from major metropolitan areas. It gets PACKED, so there's a pretty high "working with the gapers" factor as well as "fixing the stuff the gapers break / mess up" factor.

Park Work
What Joshbu said.
Sounds like an opportunity to earn some skiing funds for the 04/05 season, and spend time at one of the best places in the area.
Go for it man, call the ranger and set up an interview.
If you are at Paradise, that's where most of the tourons go, but at Sunrise or another spot you'll get a slightly more mountain-savvy crowd.

good to hear
he works at sunrise, and yea i wouldnt wanna work at paradise. but hey, ill see what happens.

First off, if you dad is a "quak" (i mean psychitrist) and his patient is a ranger at the park, you may want to reconsider the job. Why did he loose his mind; you might ask.
If not, go for it. Having a job like that will open up alot of doors for you in the future.
There is definately no denying your abition, you should be thinking about skiing and you are thinking about summer employment.
-
nope, not a quack
hes a family doc, and yea im thinkin this could be good for the future. the chance to climb it a couple times and make some money aint bad either
