In the era of high speed internet, fast servers, impatience, expensive Postal Service, and Al Gore tree hugging hippies, it seems that DVD delivery is somewhat from the caveman era.
Just wondering if we'll ever see a step to the next direction. That being HDV download. That way, everyone with a computer can see HDV and not need a somewhat expensive HDTV.

If it meant that I could get Lost and Found by 8pm CST tonight, I would download the fucker. It's ski movie night at my house tonight!
I would have no objection to downloading if it was in a format that could easily be burned to a DVD otherwise I would have no way of watching it on the tv or bringing it with me. Plus hard drives eventually die - I like to have a hard copy backup.
I watch a lot of my movies on my computer anyway, and I've recently been downloading lots of movies in full HD- I think it would be awesome to have full HD downloads of ski pron available. I really like the HD downloads from iTunes that TGR makes available for free- I would love to see their full movies available at the same resolution.

Preferably I'd like it to work like this:
1. $$$ - DVD/HD-DVD and Download at will
2. $$ - DVD/HD-DVD only
3. $ - Download only
If you can get that up and running, you're hitting all the bases. Remember too that some of us like to share the stoke and lend people DVD's. You don't necessarily want people lending out your vid files.

Down loading TH's HDV yesterday was sweeet.
I like having a hard copy but I have no problem downloading a large file and then burning it to DVD myself...as long as it can be burned to DVD and isn't copy protected.
My TV? pffft. It would have been state of the art 15 years ago and is collecting more and more dust every day. Anything HD gets watched on my computer monitor.
I don't have everything integrated yet...
We have a non HD projector (still pretty pimp though) a few dvd players a few game systems an old tv a desktop and a laptop usually in the living room. But we don't have it yet where we can link it all up cleanly (with all that shit we need to consolodate) so I am definitely one to still want a DVD.
Where is the Comcast HD on Demand option?

GIVE ME DVD! I like having something to hold, checking out the art work, and like having a new addition to the library. Besides, DVDs have features that downloads don't. Like little booklets, pictures, and stickers; and, how am I supposed to get my download autographed?! That is not to mention that they would probably put security devices on the download so you can't take it to your friends house and watch without a subscription to a specific type of player, and the ability to activate only so many players; a la iTunes. If I buy something I want control of how it gets used. Even if it is on a lap top it doesn't transport as well as a DVD.

I want something I can hold and set on the table where everyone can see it. Plus you can't download stickers.
That said, there obviously is enough interest for a download option.
A buy-and-download-now that includes a follow-up hard copy through the mail (with art, stickers, etc.) would be ideal.

I want a hard copy, maybe if i had a dvd burner on my computer i would want download them.... Ski movies are available on itunes now and for cheap, but you can't burn those files.
You aren't going to be able to charge as much selling downloads as you would be able to selling the actual DVD
Download option if some of the shipping/packaging savings are passed onto the consumer. I have an HDTV but have no way of playing downloaded HD content on it yet (Got a modded Xbox but it isn't enough to decode HD, might get one of those EVA800's when they iron out the issues). I have a 24inch widescreen LCD on my PC though so I watch stuff on it. It would be nice to have a 4GB dvd image you can burn as well as a 8-10GB 720p x264 HD version to download too.
