Maggots that work in ski shops - need some help!

I am going to be doing an edge section replacement for a fellow maggot. I am in need of some edge material and a piece of base material to patch it up. I worked in a shop for many years and have done this type of repair numerous times, unfortunately I no longer work in a shop and do not have access to the above mentioned materials that I need to do the job. Because this is for a friend and fellow maggot, I am doing the job free of charge. I was hoping to aquire these materials as cheap as possible... If anyone can help me out, please post here and/or PM me.

Edit: the damaged/missing section of edge is about 2 inches long - so I would need atleast a 4-6 inch piece of edge material.

If the new edge is thicker, that is not a big deal... I can tune them down. These are obviously beater skis, so they don't have to be perfect...

Why not skip the metal edge and just epoxy that area, grind to match and put that edge on the outside. This has worked for many skis with same problem.

Honestly, I just like doing the work. I enjoy tuning skis and doing these kind of repairs to good music and good beer as the evening temps start to drop. I was actually kind of excited when my friend brought it up... "woohoo!!! I get to do an edge replacement!"
