What the hell did I do?
Couple of weeks ago, while fucking around in the water, I had my foot full extended up
|/ like so, then the heel landed on a rock and it forced itself down like this |\ by pushing up on the heel. Ever since it's been really tender and it hurts like fuck every time I come down on my heel. No real stability issues (other than pain).
any ideas?

Sounds like a classic heelbone bruise to me. Last time I got one of those it took a year-and-a-half to not be painful on that spot.
Bone bruises suck. I landed full-weight on my elbow about 4 years ago while doing some late summer skiing at the Bird. To this day I can't rest that elbow on anything hard without causing pain. I don't know if that sucker will ever be normal.
Good luck to you, but it's just gonna take time.

I don't think it's a bone bruise though, as it's only when my heel is pushed up and unsupported. I can mash it into the floor by itself, and walking isn't really painful. Lots of forward flexion hurts too.

hmmmm.... PF?
Feet jurt more in the morning?
I jumped snd dnues last summer and laned on rainpacked hard sand causing sysmptoms very much like you describe... turn out to be plantar faciaitis...
Does you foot hurt more in the morning when you first get out of bed? Might wanna give this thread a read.... PF
If you do have PF, it can be cured but from what I learned it also becomes somewhat of a management isssue... Took me a bout a year to be truel symptom free and I wtill do excercises and wear orthotics to manage it...
Good luck!
