So, did he not know there was a cliff? Or he thought he had it all under control.
Before the scary part, that run was making me stoked......that looked frickin amazing!!!
wow, he was HAULING
You FUCKING MORON. That fucking moron video doesn't even show the moron crash.
SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU FUCKING MORON!
:cussing:
The was blantant disregard for showing the Andes the respect they deserve!
Holy fucking shitballs. Realistically, he should have been killed instantly. Did he not know that it dropped off or just wasn't able to slow down in time? That is some recockulous speed he was carrying... It would have been a lot cooler if it wasn't totally terrifying.
I would never trust a long Lenas line not to change conditions on me, although it looks like you guys had some pretty epic quality snow! I've never gotten good pow in there! Looks like pretty damn good coverage too! Scary to be sure, and a good reminder about what's really in control . . .
Perhaps the dumbest human alive .... or should I say dumbest human soon to be dead. The little 'I'm so gnar stoke session' after should be good to encourage those who want to die just like him.
Enlosandes has it right. That's a long ways away from showing any mountain the respect they deserve.
Fear, the modern gentle laxative.
Skiing way too fast on a line he didn't know. Total JONG move.
A man's got to know his limitations.:nonono2:
Hudge shwoopy fast turns over blind rollovers, in the BC=so hot right now
This is a private message i received from lee the day before.
"Tomorrow I am gonna go hiking, as my goal is to film some really good stuff for getting sponsored when I get home. So if you hear about someone dying at Las Lenas tomorrow it was probably me."
Glad to see my best friend is ok, but not to see he's the biggest idiot in the southern hemisphere.
a total idiot, yes, but lee kills it everytime he skis.
I think sponsors prefer live skiers.
Hey lee, come home safe.
Wow, All my money on red 17. That man gambled and won.
talk about a JONG move.
and he was flapping like a fairy off that air.
no respect.
alev-
Kills it? That's your definition of Killing it? Get a clue.
Thanks for the vids! Hard to tell, but looks more like you skied the Broken Shoulder couloir to the skier's right of the Labyrinth? Definitely one of my favorite zones in Lenas.
Serioulsy though- be careful down there. A lot of shit can go bad and you are FAR from good medical care - I was there when PY got hurt, another time a snowboarder got sluffed out of Sin Salida, and among others- a very tragic incident in 2004: http://www.huckzone.com/jimspage.php
Don't get caught up in the All-Star bravo match that Lenas can easily generate. Push your limits, but be smart about it.
Oh- and Unofficial Andes, by now you'd have to agree that the Marte terrain crushes KT-22 ;)
Jeezus. This should be posted in the "Jong things I did today" thread.
Squirrel, we were thinking the same about it being Broken Shoulder but don't remember any roll over where a reckless skier could huck.
That looks like +100 ft. of airtime.
Best start rethinking that skiing career.
I suggest getting stupid wasted tonight at the UFO, and then watch the sunrise thanking whomever your still alive.
That was retarded and stupid, especially for the little fame and glory available in the freeski industry.
He was having a killer run before he dropped out of sight. I agree with STFUYFM - the vid was pretty anticlimactic without actual footage of him almost splatting.
Yeah, dying is sooo worth getting a sponsorship. Sadly, he's not the only skier in the world with that attitude.
For some reason Australian accents in the mountains really piss me off.
