Why I take it so seriously...
I take this board seriously because....
I have been inspired..... because of trip reports, first hand accounts, videos, pictures and word of mouth.
I have been hooked up.... with gear, jobs, love, support, information.
I have gone through other peoples tragedies, their life. I have been invited into the warm fuzzy kitchen of many of the regulars that inhabit this twisted space of internet.
I have been bought beers, shown stashes, been given free hucking advice, bought great skis, found good people, given good ski tips.
I had people (thanks rune) help me fix my car problems.
My CAR problems. On a Ski forum.
I have been tought lessons in life, love, and friends.
I was motivated by this board enough to move to places far far away to ski, to meet up with mostly total strangers in a foreign country and band together for 2 weeks. I was motivated by this board enough to go after the things that I really wanted to do.
And I don't take kindly to other peoples purported attempts to shit all over something that I have been involved with for 6 years.
6 years isn't just THE INTERNET. That time isn't just something that is vapid, and unreal.
Time served doesn't give us a license to think that this place is the greatest thing since sliced bread either, but to somehow minimize the impact that this place has had on other peoples lives simply because it is electronic instead of physical is (in my opinion) stupid.
I get passionate about this place because I have history here. Others do as well.
You want to tell me that some place is "The Internet", that somehow because I happen to call this place home that in that regard it speaks less of me and I will tell you to fuck off.
Now, lets all get back to a discussion about whether or not frozen should take his pubes off with duct tape because I don't want to thrunt the board up with useless talk of something so serious.
I may not be around so much, but god dammit, you fuck heads mean something to me.*
