Any fly tying Mac users?
After we get moved into the new place at the end of the month, I am going to set up my fly tying bench for a winter of attempting to tie and learning - next to my computer desk. My dad is an experienced fly tyer, and I am a novice. Plus, he lives in Venezuela at the moment. We are going to start doing some fly tying sessions through video conferencing with iChat. Anybody else have a similar set-up?

we use the cams with skype, but the quality is not great if the other side is far away or on a slow link. i.e., definitely a "knot-tying" quality of the picture.

Sure, but enough to see basically what each other is doing and to be able to talk about it... The iChat in Mac iLife isn't too bad as far as image quality.

iChat will give you better quality than skype if the connection can handle it... find somebody with a MacBook on the board and test iChat with them, it'll give you an idea of the quality (my new macbook's built-in camera is disabled by my employer, unfortunately).

iChat should work fine, I'll show you how to tie whatever flies you want if you want I got a nice setup here
