Ninthward - Five Axis = decent?

O.k. can't find reviews on these but Five Axis appears to be dumping the skis they built for Ninthward. Any idea if any of these are decent?

Looks like another snowboard manufacturer producing twin tips.

I came across their auctions on Ebay looking for a cheap twin to chase the kids around this year(Trees, small mountain, natural terrain, those rails hurt!). The 180 First Blood is 123/91/116 or the 190 is 125/97/118 and for under $200 looks to be a decent deal. The 180 is showing the effective edge as only 4cm shorter than the effective edge on the 190. The sidecut isn't that much more extreme so either the 180 is long or the 190 is short but given the quoted effective edge lengths it looks like the 180 is long.

Any idea if I should stay away?

Looks like the dimensions change on the 190's on the website, presumably for the coming year?

Here is my two cents.....5axis was 4FRNTSs first manufactuer and I have a pair of the 1st gen 180 MSPs that I have beat on for 4 winters as a rock/park ski. Construction has been stellar and if that is a quick benchmark I would give the 190 FB a run for less than $200 bucks. I have been looking at the same thing on Ebay and actually waiting for THA 187 to go under $250.

I pulled the trigger on a pair of 187 on the 4th and they are already in the mail. I know Nick Greener liked his but he is sponsered by them, but another friend of mine realy like his 9th ward skis. I think there are people on the board who don't like there skis or it might be the pople who run the company. The skis dimensons an lenght seem like they are what I am looking for I hope I am right.

3 pairs to sell and youre still buying?? And here all this time i thought it was ME who had the problem...(well wife too)...man....you need to stop buying.. :D

Birthday money was used I was going to get an Ipod but I will get that later when the skis sale. The wife was ok with that. The baby is good.

Hmm.....190 or 180, kinda looking for a harder snow ski. Blowers and Gotamas, and Powder plus kinda take the over 100mm realm. I'm thinking the 91 waist sounds about right but the 180 length seems short. I guess I'm hopeful the 180 skis a bit long for a twin.

9th Ward makes great skis. If you can get a pair of FB's for $200, you really ought to pull that trigger.

They really hold the pop for LONG TIME, and pretty good durability.

Have you managed to ski the First blood? How are they at busting crud and in the trees. Would you go with the 190 or 180?

How would these compare to the Mojo 90/Madtrix mojo?

The skis produced that year were the best 9thward has ever had. I have the THA 187s and they're awesome. At the prices listed on ebay, especially for the first blood 190s, I say go for it. I'm kinda envious since I just recently bought some skis. I would have loved some first bloods.

Are the THAs really as stiff as that guy described?

Are you referring to the "I've never seen Ants in public but they're at least as stiff as those" guy/comment? If so then there is really no telling if that statement means anything at all is there?

Yeah that was pretty lame of me. At the time I posted that because that site was having a promo where if you post any review you're entered into a drawing for a free pair of skis.

I've flexed some ANTs since then and they're a tad bit softer than the 05/06 ants. The flex can be comparable to the 06/07s though with a bit more give on the shovel than the tail.
