Plug BOOTS

Ok I need some help, I am currently going threw a pair of salomon course boots on the average of a year or less, and I need something mcu stiffer, than my foamed course boots. I wear a size 27.5 in the normal course model.

I am getting a pair of Salomons Course XP Plug boots, and plan on foaming them too, I know that they need a ton of boot work, inorder to ski them, some thing that I am not afraid of dooing, and I have all of the proper tools on hand, Grinder, Dremel, Heet Gun, boot spreader, etc. So that isnt a problem. What I am worried about, is that the course boot is a lot narrower, and since it has thicker plastic uses a thinner liner, since I am not racing, but skiing hard everyday instead and shooting pics, should I go a have size bigger and get the 28 and then foam em???

Please help I have to put the order in this week.

I had a pair of Course fit and foamed last year. They were done by Earl Middlemiss @ the Sport Loft in Salt Lake City (801) 272-3701. He is one of the best boot fitters in the country and a solly dealer. If you are really in doubt as to what to do I'd give him a ring and ask.. He's a great guy and knows more about fitting boots than you and I will ever forget. I have some messed up feet and the grinding and stretching needed to accomodate my fuct up dogs is usually a three visit 6 hour process. I've had three pairs of boots fit by him now and consider it normal to book a trip to SLC just to get fit. It's shitty, but one weekend of slogging up and down LCC is quickly paid off with a season in boots that work without pain. Good luck bro.

Do you know what size down to the millimeter your foot measures? Less reliable, but how much finger space do you have when shell fitting? Keep in mind that their is no half sizing in boots and that a 27 and 27.5 shell are the same. Moving to the 28(5) is I think about a 7mm difference in length.

If you're not plug sizing your boots, and 27.5 is your size, then get them and foam them. I wouldn't grind or punch on the shell until after I foamed them unless you had glaring bone protusions. That's what I would do...but then...i usually see the boots and the feet in person. YMMV.

ok, I know htat PLUG boots require a ton of grinding and punch even before foaming and then again after words, But i am still un shure of the shell size, like with hte non Plug version of the coarse I have 1.5 cm of space between the shell and my heel when my foot is all they way forward, wich translates to a near perfect fit when foamed, the question is inorder to get this simular fit do I need to go up to a 28 size shell? I aint racing so I dont need the shell right next to my bones, but I want very high performance, and egnough comfort to ski in em all day everyday
