I know, completely pathetic......stems from the "who do you hate more...the grateful dead or jimmy buffett ?" discussion this weekend.:nonono2:
Not a fan of FCS as the whole base isnt locked into the board making it feel like a removeable fin and not a part of the board the way Futures and Red-X do...
Between the two mentioned above I favor futures simply cause they have more options...
Yes, absolutely. But if you dont know, I wouldnt want to spoil it for you. Actually, typo on this end. I meant FCS for the first...
WhillyW-Yes Jimmy B has completely sold out, but WTF? Don't fucka-wid-Jerry! He's dead for fucks sake!
Was all FCS, now 50/50 with futures, they are better, more variety more of a glassed in feel in IMO.
I have FCS but I'll be the first to admit I have no idea about fins and I have no idea how they affect my 'performance'.
Future make the vector and the vector is sick.
I roll the RedX but that's only because that's what Patagucci/Point Blanks/Fletcher Chouinard boards come with.
I haven't had any problems yet and I would guess the fore/aft adjustability would be worth something even though I've never actually fiddled with anything.
I like FCS, even though my board I picked up yesterday came with a future setup.
Speed fins are a bitch. RedX and Lokbox... Meh.
How are the new Patagucci boards? A few years ago the shop was having serious problems with the glass jobs and durability despite the whole triple stringer thing... I heard they are better now, is that the case?
I like futures better than FCS - it may be all psychological but I think they feel more like glass-ons. Plus, even though it's probably irrelevant, every FCS fin I've ever had has had a gap between the base of the leading edge of each fin. It always pissed me off.
I also now spend the extra dough for fiberglass fins rather than the plastic ones. I notice a distinct performance advantage in the fiberglass.
Pretty sure that when they first started making boards (prior to the malloys joining them) they did... I could be mistaken though. Glad to hear they are quality cause I like most of their other stuff....
Can you really tell the difference? My board came set up with FCS, but can I squeeze other fins in the same boxes to try them out?
okbye
The problem is not all fins are setup like FCS.
FCS fins are like:
|.................\
|...................\
|..................... \
|....................... \
|..........................\
|_ ......_____.......__|
...|___|.......|___|
And
I've seen
|.................\
|...................\
|..................... \
|....................... \
|..........................\
|__.....................__|
.....|____________|
but if it's fits I guess it could work.
good luck fitting a future in fcs slots. Both Future and Lokbox make adaptors so you can use FCS in their systems.
Fin(s), as in more than one?
You mean you guys are still using training wheels?
~Just kidding~
