Lack of snow...can't take it...need new skis...new skis are good...right?
Wasatch Lightning Longboards ( 16 foot-long solid ash skis).
Reverse-camber solid ash powder skis and all kinds of odd things like solid ash replicas of the Legend, DPS, Pontoon, Spatula, PocketRocket, Metron, Karhu Karver, Sweetdaddy, Outlaw...etc. with polycarbonate edges.
Anyone tried these (and lived?)

I talked to this guy last year and because there is no mold building/pressing process it is SUPER cheap for him to try new shapes so he is very much open to suggestions. You can make a cut out paper or cloth of your design and send it to him with the camber etc and he can make it for <$400. All wood with polycarb edges, they end up being around the same or less weight than most sandwich or cap skis other than the carbon ones. I wonder if they retain/release any energy or if they'd just dampen out all life from the sport though.
He has a bunch of decent shapes already too and they're all $185 on the pre-season deal! At that price some of us Mags should really give them a shot, who knows they could be the next big thing.
Too bad the "Ultimate" doesn't come in a mans size and weighs 7lbs at 176cm.
They were $165 when I got mine. There should be plenty of material on this subject if you search 'lightningboards' or something like it. Bob's a really nice guy.

I searched a bunch and while there are 2 threads about these skis 1 is uneventful and outdated tripe about steel edged pairs he used to make and the other is a thread flaming a jong for not searching for the first.
There is honestly very little actual experience with these things, at least that is easily found in the search function. If you posted a good review it would be easy to find it in your posts and repost it here. I'll check all your posts.

All you said was that the pair you have is stiff and hard to ski. Only one other person (Flexon Phil) has had any on hill experience with the skis and apparently he broke his which I guess is what ended the intrigue.
