weight of marker dukes?

Does anyone know the actual weight of a pair of dukes? Couloir mag quotes them at 5 lbs which would make them 8 oz less than the claimed weight of nx21s with brakes... but doesn't say whether this is with or without brakes.

in any event, I'd be surprised if the duke weighed the same or less than the naxo. i think marshal's review of the duke said they were a fair amount heavier than the naxos. so has anyone put a pair on a scale? has anyone weighed the nx21s to test naxo's claim of 5 lbs 8 oz?

trying to decide between the two and was leaning naxo for the weight advantage but if it doesn't exist it would make my choice fairly easy....

i scale is not super accurate, so i did not post a number, but they are inbetween 914's and 916's in weight. about the same as a p18 i'd guess.

OK, thanks Marshal, that's helpful. According to backcountry.com, P18s weigh an even 6 lbs (2722 g).

Anyone else who's got their hands on the dukes, have you weighed them or compared them to a pair of nx21 or freerides? dukes must be heavier, right? maybe the 5 lbs listed in couloir was a mistake.

I havent skied them but Monod Sports out here in Banff has a pair in (dunno if they are next years official "production" binding) but they seems significantly heavier than nx21s or fritschis. I think the general consensus on the duke as it is now is that it is too heavy for multi-day tours but has a lot of potential for the sidecountry or day tours, and you will probably be able to ski them harder and jump off more shit then if you had naxos under you (i've heard mixed opinions on how bomber nx21s are).

I called Marker today to check on weights for the 2 sizes of Duke. They did not have specs available yet. I was told availability for the new production models by July, hopefully.

Bryce at Evogear (from whom I stole his Dukes) did tell me the production dukes this summer will indeed be lighter. The ones I have are a bit heavier than Naxos, both with breaks, but I forget the exact difference.

The sample run Dukes are about 2700 g. The regular production binding will come in lighter, probably by about 200 g. As soon as we get them, I'll weigh one and let it be known.
