As an east coaster, the idea of skiing an active volcano with a growing bulge near its peak, seems totally ridiculous. Post a TR if you do this.
The route we skied was called Monitor ridge I think? Fairly low angle, we skinned to the top. I remember it being around 4,000' vert and very cool to look into the hissing crater. Enjoy.

Quota season begins May 15 -- before that you'll still need to do the online permit process a couple days before you head down there and pick them up on your way. After that there is a limit of 100? climbers a day so you may be more limited in your choices...Quote:
