Anyone who skis on these, what do you think? I'm looking for a comp ski for next season and I have a good line on a pair. Wondering how they hold up going straight/fast as compared to the Legend Pro and other big mtn sticks. Thanks

I guess it depends what comps you're doing. For something like the Snowmass or Crested Butte comps, these would slay it. For something a bit more wide open/higher speed, I'd thinking something a bit bigger ala squads or lp's would be better.
I like the ants, they absolutly kill it as a hard snow ski, but the huge amount of camber makes em feel a bit wierd in powder. Kinda odd for a decently fat ski, but then you gotta remember they're meant to be a big jib stick.
They ski short too.
I've never ridden squads or lp's but my Ant's are the most stable skis I've ever been on. I haven't had them in more than a foot of snow yet but I really like them in every condition except bullet proof crud and the day I had them out in that type of snow I'm not sure any ski would've been much fun.
They do ski short. I was worried about the length but it hasn't really been a problem for me yet.
thanks for the beta guys, when you mounted them, did you use the stock line, or did you mount + or - of it ?good to hear they like hard snow, have yet to ski in a comp with more then a few inches of fresh, I guess Kirk got 2ft, but I didnt have enhough dinero to make the trip.
Make sure to double check the factory line, where ever you decide to mount them. Mine were off by quite a bit.
That said, I mouted mine -10 from CENTER and I love them. Stable as hell.
Whatever you do, don't mount them further back than the 7 3/4cm or whatever the reccomended line is. I had one pair mounted at -9cm and my current pair are mounted at -3.5cm from true center. They still charge and turn so much better than the pair that was mounted back.
I gotta give 'em props for the hard snow performance. I was skiing them on some super icy re-frozen crap yesterday and they had some great edge hold.
I also think they do fine in the powder, you gotta de-tune the hell out of the tips and tails though, or else they'll hook up wierd in the soft stuff.
I have -9 from true centre (-2 from the line if the line is in the right place) and they are great all around. Still enough tail to mess around switch as well.
