PS2
Is there a way to reset a PS2 back to its factory config?
I'm trying to use mine as a DVD player, and that pesky parental code prompt keeps jumping up.b The problem is, I have no idea what the code is anymore - I've tried every 4-digit combo I can think of. I think either somebody else reset it or it did it on its own (it's been awhile since I've used it as a DVD player...).
it's super-annoying as it's locked in level 1, which means anytime I watch something rated PG or higher it won't let me. This sucks!

did you try 0000 thats the factory config, other then that call playstation

yep, just go to sony's site it tells you how to do it.
The Parental Control can be accessed even if you have forgotten your
password. Press the Select button and enter '7444' to delete the old password.

or just get rid of the PS2 and buy an xbox and a copy of Ninja Gaiden. the most violentest, be-headin'-est, throwin star chucken-est, fastest movin...en......est sickest sackest game out there.

As for asking the 'rents...well I'm 24, so hopefully one of these days they'll stop programming the V-chip...:p
